Sports offerings don't change very much over the years.

Probably not, but I'm going to speculate that a lot more schools offer soccer now than they did twenty years ago. What with immigration from Latin America and soccer's growing mainstream popularity, not to mention that it's an insanely cheap sport to equip players for.
