I go to my Traditions class on Saturday...that's considered your first day of work!! :)

I'm still here!

Boy I've sure missed tons of postings.....and now I don't have time to catch up....

Step... i can't find the details on you new job....bring me up to speed. What's an FRD(?)...RFD(?) whatever!?!

Youngest DS and his DW are on vacation....they are visiting here.....they arrived Monday morning early....

So....been a busy week....the kids celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary on Tuesday....we had a nice family get-together/picnic/party at WishingStar's house....

It was especially nice seeing all 3 of my kids together at the same time again....especially my 2 DS's...who hadn't seen each other in over a year....

plus, Oldest DS got to introduce his new Baby Daughter (Savanna) to her Uncle & Aunt...

then, yesterday, DW & I met up with youngest DS and DDIL over some BBQ....

they leave again Friday.....but we'll be going to visit them in December....

OK! You are all caught up on my news...

Ahoy :boat: Cruisin' ! I hope you & yours & your visitors are having a great time.... :cloud9:

:wave2: Hi Stepharoonie! Won't be long now 'til you are FDR @ AKL!! Best wishes....

 Hi Kim! Cubbies lost in extra innings today... :(

:wave2: Hi MaMudDuck! Good to see you again!....FDR is Front Desk Receptionist....

Front desk receptionist...I'll be working at the Animal Kingdom Lodge...not too long from now!!! :)

Stepharoonie, I am still jealous about your job. One day, I am going to apply there. I might be 80 yrs old when I do, but that's ok.

I can't even think about baseball on a pro level yet. I saw the Cubs mentioned and I think about my son's little leauge team. We are 1/2 game out of first place. We have 2 more games to go and the last game of the season is next Thurs with the current number 1 team. They beat us once and we tied the next game. Rained out during the game and couldn't reschedule.

 to everyone

Been real busy with my company from Holland :moped: checking out the area.

Brer_Papa, we went to RM Classic Cars show room for a tour yesterday. They loved looking at the old cars. They were allowed to pick any car they wanted in the showroom and sit in it for a picture. The perks of knowing people in high places :teeth:
We may end up in Erie, PA for the night on Sunday as we are visiting my brother in law in Cleveland on Sunday and then heading towards Niagara Falls afterwards.

I was trying to find the pages where you told me about Erie but haven't found them yet. Any recommendations on where to stay, if we do end up stopping there?

:Pinkbounc :bounce: Good luck steph on your first day as a Disney CM. I wish you well.

cool graphics as usual montessori!

Way Cool Steph! I love AKL- I was born in Africa (South Africa) and all my relatives still live there. When I walked into AKL for the first time (Nov 2002), it was like going home for me! All the wonderful rich decor... the smell of it, even reminded me of SA.

I am so really jealous of you::yes::, my next goal is to spend a week (or more) in concierge there!

LOTS of stuff on that itinerary....

Naturally, it all depends on how mch time you have...

Detroit is about a 5 hour drive from here...Cleveland an hour and a half....both west of here

Niagara Falls is probably an hour and a half - 2 hours East from here...NYC - Statue of Liberty is a good 9 hours South and East....

West of Cleveland is Cedar Point Park....an hour- hour or so from Cedar Point to Cleveland...world famous roller coasters...

Cleveland - 9th Street East exit is the Rock & Roll Museum...and maybe the Indians will be in town...Jacob's Field is a jewel...

Back on Interstate 90 heading East...yo could swing North off the Old exit 5 ( they renumbered the exits by the mile...I'll get it for you if you want...) anyway..head North on Route 832....about 6 miles down the road and you'll be on Presque Isle State Park...it's BEAUTIFUL!

tidbits of info --- if you headed south on Route 832 a few miles is where i grew up...by heading North, you'll be in spittin' distance of DD - WishingStar's house....and..there's a cool burger-fries & root beer place just before the park entrance...

ok...say you go to Presque Isle...when you leave...remembering there is only one road in and one road out....

before the 1st ight...across from BAC bait stand is Waldameer Park...it's small..you can enjoy it fairly quick...

ok...at that 1st light...instead of staying on Route 832 headingback to 90.......turn left at the 1st light onto Alternate Route 5....this will take you to Downtown Erie....you coud see plenty of our "leapfrog" frogs done by local artists...

once downtown...you will also see the parks...at State street...detour north for 6 blocks....and check out the USS Brig Niagara...our Library...the public dock....

anyway..if you do that...head back southon State...get back on Alt Route 5...stay on that...it will take you along the Lake Erie shoreline...through "Grape Country" and the vineyards and to New York...

this route also avoids the toll roads on 90 in NY...and is MUCH more scenic....

and it merges with Route 20 in Silver Springs...in the midst of a Native American Reservation...cheaper gas and such....

and will take you to Buffalo and Niagara Falls....and it leaves you any number of opportunities to jump back on 90 if you wish....

There is a relatively new Casino on the American side in Niagara Falls if that interests you....

I have gone on Corvette / Classic Car cruises to Niagara Falls...there are some quaint and neoned motels on Niagara Falls Parkway that we stay at....

when i have gone to NYC from here...iusually head south to 80 off 79....I'd have to look up how to get to NYC from Niagara Falls....i'm thinking the Garden State Expressway would probably be your best bet....

keep in touch...I'll help all I can....

Ahoy Cruisin' :boat:

Here you are....the directions I posted....heading East from Cleveland on I-90....the last Ohio exit with any decent hotels is probably Ashtabula....from there, It's about 20 miles to the PA-OH state line....another 20 or so miles to the old exit 6 (route 19)Country Inn, Fairfield Inn, Quality Inn, Marriott, Erie Homewood Suites, Comfort Inn, Hampton inn, Holiday Inn Express, Microtel, Econolodge & Motel 6

and another 2 miles to the old exit 7 (Route 97) ...Red Roof Inn & Ramada

....there is a Best Western at the old exit 5 (route 832)

Plus a Red Carpet Inn at the old exit 12 (Route 20) which s the ast exit before the NY state line....

I have no idea of room availability for this weekend....I know they sometimes sell out....

I hope you see this.....
