Wishing On a Star for a MNSSHP/October 2011 PTR

Working this weekend felt great! That is until every bone in my body started aching. Woke up yesterday feeling like I had been hit by a massive truck! Took my temp 100.8 with a massive sore throat. Great! Went to work last night for a split shift and felt better being there but still sick. I think one of my patients gave me this. Oh well, just glad to be back at work. I have to work Wed and Thurs for computer training classes. The hospital I work at is still in the dark ages when it comes to charting until May 3rd when we go live on computer charting. I am excited for this change. Today, I am going to rest and hope to feeling better.

I found you!!!! :yay:

I kept looking back to try and find a link in your posts, so I finally just looked for all your posts to find this. I think somebody gave you directions to add a link, and it's really not as hard as it might sound. If I can do it, you can do it.

Girl, you have been through it, haven't you? Do you ever feel like the story just keeps tumbling out, never ending? I hope you get over your crud (that's a technical term ;) ) soon and that you have smooth sailing here on out.

Glad you're back at work, doing what you love.

Glad you enjoyed being back at work... feel free to join in on my PTR, there is a link in my siggie

Me again, Shannon,

Wanted to let you know I found this that I saved:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2646423

It tells you how to link to a specific post in a thread, like if you wanted to do a table of contents for your trip report, but if you go backwards the forum is the technical forum and it will provide directions for how to add your trip report link to your signature. Those are the instructions I used (which may be exactly like what the PP said, for all I know!)

Hope that helps! Lots of good info on that forum, but I had the hardest time finding the forum itself! :confused3

Is it October yet? I feel lost since I have made my ADRs.

LOL I feel the same way! :rotfl: I wish there was something else I could be doing...all I've been doing lately is second guessing my itinerary and ADR's!

Hope you feel better soon! :goodvibes

Last night, I was running the numbers. I have 4 months or 8 paychecks to pay my balance by August 30. It will be tight because I won't be working fulltime, just parttime due to childcare issues. I may have to change my resort to a moderate. We stayed at POR last year and LOVED it! I may just go back there or POFQ. If Disney comes out with FD or % off rooms, then I may can pull off WL. IDK, I don't want to wait too long. HELP!

I had the same dilemma last year...we were booked at WL and although we could have paid for it, once free dining came out, we switched to POR and saved lots of money!!

If a discount comes out, I'd say stay at WL, but if not, and you think it will be too tight to do WL, just change! POR is great, and POFQ looks so cute!

I read that people are expecting free dining for the Fall to be announced soon, before May 10th I guess? So keep your fingers crossed! :dance3:

I hope everyone is right on the free dining. If fd comes out, then we will definitely stay. We love POR, we stayed there last year. DS wanted to stay at a resort with bunk beds and he chose WL.

I am off to bed now and sleeping off this virus. Good night all.

Get well soon!

I love that all the doctors come in to see us with laptops now and just hit a button to send our prescriptions to the pharmacy.

Hooray for work, kind of. I saw you had posted and thought maybe you were just trying to adjust your sleeping habits. Didn't realize you went back so quickly. Hope this week goes smoothly. Happy Easter!

I just noticed the time you posted this. LOL. What were you doing up so early? LOL

Nothing exciting going on today. Just trying to get over this funk that I have. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for me. Justin has a neurologist appointment in the morning, speech and occupational therapy tomorrow afternoon, haircut for both kids after therapy, Madison has play practice at church after that. Oh, and I have to be at work at 4 pm for computer charting class. Luckily, Jim is going to meet me at therapy to switch off the kids so I can drive to the hospital for work. I doubt I will be here tomorrow. I hope you all have a great Wednesday.

DD has a way of wanting to eat late and stressing us out in general so I often have to get up and check her blood sugar in the middle of the night. That was one of those nights that she was low and was feeding her and checking back every 15-20 minutes. Took forever to get her up to 120.

This morning Justin had his neurologist appt. Explained to her about Justin having visual hallucinations and she ordered some tests, first an MRI and a EEG (which we did this morning). We just got home and here is a pic of my baby all hooked up for his EEG.

We will get the results next week. In the meantime, we have to wait for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at the Scottish Rite campus to call us with an appt for his MRI. My only gripe is the drive, it took us 1 1/2 hr to get there and only 30 minutes to get home. What's up with that? Unfortunately that is where all his specialists are located except for one and he is at the Egleston campus. Plus we have to make an appt with the neuropsychologist for an evaluation, it is due. Last one we had was 3 yrs ago. I am always playing phone tag with these people at the Scottish Rite campus. We need it ASAP because Justin is about to lose his Deeming Waiver/Katie Beckett Waiver which is a federally funded medicaid program for children who have private insurance, but their private insurance does not pay for the services they need such as speech, occupational, or physical therapies. He has had the deeming waiver since he was 4 and this is the first time he is required to have this done, we were never told this till the other day as we get a certified letter saying his insurance coverage has been denied. UGH! I HATE the people over this.

Anyway, that was my rant of the day. lol I am now just resting before we have to leave for Justin's therapies, kids haircuts, play practice, and work for the new computer charting training. See you all later.

I'm sorry. Most Fridays and Saturdays I am at work at that time. Give me a call if you have any questions or concerns. Hopefully I can answer them for you.

was going through my photobucket account and found these pics I thought I would share.

IMG_2101.jpg

This is from last year while we were waiting for the Monorail to Epcot to go eat at Akershus. I have been hoodwinked by a pirate! Princess Madison apparently didn't care if the Queen Mommy got hoodwinked. LOL At least the Royal King tried to help by scolding the pirate with his finger flapping. :rotfl:

IMG_0295.jpg

Madison's first MNSSHP. Jim is holding her so she can see the parade. Look how little she is. I miss that age, she was 4 yrs old and still my baby then. Now she is, well, let's just she doesn't act like my baby anymore.

IMG_0298.jpg

She couldn't last for the fireworks, I looked to check on her and she was out like a light. Poor baby.

IMG_0293.jpg

This is the only pic I got of both kids dressed up, don't know why. Look how cute they are and how young they are. I think that was my favorite memory.

IMG_2079.jpg

This is from last year, Justin was getting his Pirate name. He loved the whole experience. The CMs were very patient with him.

IMG_2092.jpg

This is the after photo.

IMG_0250.jpg

This is from 2007, look at my babies. I miss this age.

IMG_0256.jpg

This when Madison first met Cinderella at her castle for CRT. She was so shy.

I like Madison's background better, but she would not smile. She was just as temperamental back then, too. lol.

Ugh, I really hate dealing with insurance. If everything happened like it was supposed to it would be fine but they make you jump through hoops hoping you'll give up and they can keep all the money.

Love the pics. I'm going to post some on my PTR soon. After making ADRs six months is a long time to fill with the mundane t-shirt and travel deodorant buying. :rotfl:

Nothing to report new on anything Disney related. Wednesday night I was scheduled to be at the hospital for computer training from 4 pm to midnight. Around 10 pm, my intructors decided to let us go home early due to impending bad weather heading our way (the one that nearly took out Alabama). I drove home and the wind was blowing limbs across the road and the rain was going sideways. I finally got home and walked in the door and the tornado sirens began going off. I woke everyone up and moved them into our tiny hallway.
2011-04-27233319-1.jpg

Around 2 am the tornado warnings were over and we all went to our own beds, or shall I say the kids ended up with us in our bed.

Now to Thursday, I had to be at the hospital at 4 pm for day 2 of computer training. I took my usual route, and I come to an area that I would call total destruction. Homes gone or pushed off their foundations, trees snapped or missing, power lines in the roads. I was on the phone with dh and all I could say was "OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!" etc. I told him what I came upon and then I began to cry! If I had left when I should have from the hospital, then I would have come face to face with the tornado that caused all the destruction. I began to pray and thank God for the insight to send all the nurses in that class home early. I prayed that the families displaced were ok. The reports say the tornado was one mile wide. I will kiss and hug my kids and husband a little more in the morning, and thank God for the gift of living another day. Good night all.

I'm glad you left early too! And that you didn't have to smoosh the kiddos. :goodvibes

Hey Shannon - I just found your PTR!
I know you're busy with work these days, but just thought I would join-in....

With all the hours you're getting at work, you should no-doubt be sticking with Wilderness Lodge, right? We were in an Inner Courtyard Bunk-Bed room last September - it was LOVELY! You will love it! Here are some pics of the view from our room:

Thanks Laurie. I am working extra hard to make it work, now if I could get free dining or a PIN for % off the room it would make it easier. Love the pics, did you take any inside the room? Would love to see them. I reserved a bunk bed courtyard view and requested a room overlooking the lake so we could see the Electric Light Parade at night. And I am hoping we can be a flag family. Justin wants to take his Boy Scout uniform and get pictures raising the flags in it, I might bring Madison's Girl Scout uniform too. That would make a great pic, my Boy Scout and my Brownie Girl Scout.

Not a Disney update, but medical update on Justin. His EEG came back ok, the tech said he would not rest or relax and she could not find anything abnormal. So the neurologist wants to do a 24 hour EEG on June 15. Figures. lol. Today we are going to have his MRI done at lunch. His pneumonia is better, still having the croupy cough. Since it is the end of the school year and his last year in Elementary School, he is having more meltdowns about graduating 5th grade next week. It's not his normal meltdowns, more sad about leaving that escalates into a full meltdown. It breaks my heart that he is feeling this way, I keep explaining to him that life is full of changes and we have to learn to roll with them and that his teachers at his elementary school will always be there for him if he should ever need them. That's it for now, have to go get ready for the long drive to the Scottish Rite campus of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for his MRI.
