Official 2016 5th Anniversary Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

It looks like they already got caught because you can't find them in the official results

You're right. You can't find their names at all on official result search. Anybody know if the first place femLe actually crossed the finish first.. Jen serna.. Bib 23 or did someone else cut the course and cross the tape? I'm looking at the twitter post and it looks like a two digit bib number on the girl crossing so I'm guessing it is her. I hope the girls on live result page didn't cut the course and its just a mix up.

If its not a mix up, that's just sad... Whether it was meant as a joke or not. If its not a mix up, then i guess this is as good as any for a lifetime ban

So interesting, we saw the girl running to the finish when we were behind the cars ride (we were on the other side of the course) and she had a bicycle escort so I am sure Disney will catch it.

I saw one, too. Or maybe the same one? She definitely wasn't moving at the same light-speed as the other women I saw before her. And then I saw a cyclist chase her down.

If you look at the live results, there's like five women that finished on the leaderboard where they just magically appear on the leader board after the 15k mark. If you look up those women, they have no 10k or 15 k splits.. Just a 5k and finish time

@MommaoffherRocker - I haven't heard about sweepings yet, but I had a friend in corral F and said that at mile 1.5 it stopped dead for about 10 mins because of the entrance to Disneyland. It's possible the balloon ladies couldn't really maintain their pace and this caused less sweepings? My friend still finished at 3:16 but normally did a 2:55 or 3 hour half. I saw people with 3:50 finish times... so who knows.

Had a great time at the half today! Pretty crowded through the parks, but otherwise a fun course. My partner and I ran as Joy & Sadness, here I am dragging her across the finish :)

That's pretty sad- least time wise they didn't ruin the 'true winners' finish (as time wise it was 20-30 min later) I know kellie was awarded 2nd (as I've seen pics of the awards ceremony on hogwarts running club)

I saw you guys!! I was the obnoxious redhead near the end. :teeth:

I had another great run. That is two sub 2 hours halfs this year and 45 seconds faster than the Princess. Can't say I liked the course, but glad I did it. This is my second CTC, first was 2010.

I did see a girl getting coffee at Haagen Dazs and my daughter and I wondered how she could already be finished. I know we were judging her but she just did not look like some one would could be finished. I started in A and didn't spend much time at the finish area as I wanted some coffee so she could be one that skipped a big section of the course. It could have been very easy to cut the course short as the first pass we took the outside track out of CA and the final pass the inside and the volunteers keep telling women to stay inside the cones as they drifted to the inside track.

However, if they cut the track at the back of cars land, you would be missing the 10k and 15k mats. It would be pretty obvious once the results are in when they see missing splits. Who knows... This could be another article for http://www.marathoninvestigation.com where people get called out on it by name and/or rundisney simply bans them from further races.

I just don't understand why people do things like cu the course.....personally I want to accomplish the goal.I am a bit goal driven and other have different out looks on life.

The triple espresso after the race was a real reward and my daughter book a massage for me and it was super...I Was feeling rather blessed yesterday hanging with my daughter at Disneyland.

Hope everyone else had a great day too!

Congrats to everybody that ran this past weekend at the Tink!

I started following to see if I could find out what sort of "Perfect" bonus (if any) runDisney gave out for 5-Year participants. (still seeking an answer if anybody knows!)

But now I've been following this because of how things shaped up:
- No corrals for the 5K
- Poor weather and crowded points for the 10K
- And now the possibility that people cut in the Half? (Booooo!)

I sure hope things are a little more sedate for the DL Half when I go out there! LOL

What is up with the woman's leader board. If you click on leaderboard, the first few were running 13 minute miles, then all of a sudden they finish with 5 minute miles. Also, if you look at their splits, they didn't even register a time at the 10k and 15k splits.

Yep. Nice job, cheater. 10 miles in about 29 minutes? That is some serious world record time there. Should be disqualified and banned.

As usual, I think the experience greatly depends on where you started. I somehow found myself in "corral A" for the 5K (they didn't assign us corrals, but the pre-race announcers kept referring to them anyway. Despite arriving later than I'd planned I just so happened to be right by the starting line - which was very small, barely visible). The first 2 minutes or so were VERY crowded but then it opened up and was fine.

Similar with the 10K - I was in Corral B and don't remember thinking crowding was an issue at any point during the race.

As for course cutting, I definitely don't understand why people do it, and I definitely don't like it, but the fact that it happened isn't something I'm going to dwell on. Some people just don't have integrity. It's bizarre. :confused3

But after being injured earlier this year, I was just so grateful and happy to be there. And watching the last 1.5 hours of the half marathon was inspiring, so from my view it seemed like a pretty good weekend overall.

By D for the 10K people were literally stuck walking out of the corrals. I think it backed up on Ball with the two freeway overpasses. I ended up running the sidewalk to get ahead.

I've changed my estimated time for Avengers to the 9 minute mile in hopes of being in an earlier corral so I can run. So many walkers in the "12 minute mile" area.

Can't believe the races are over! It was an emotional weekend for me. If anyone is also on the FB group you probably saw my post about my experience at the Expo. Noticed I wasn't listed on the banner for Legacy runners lo and behold I had just picked up the regular half bib. My experience with the race staff to try and get everything corrected was probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had with Disney. A lot of stress and $17 dollars later (I had to go print stuff out at the business center as my only option) I finally at least got the system fixed for me as a Legacy runner and a new bib so I could get the gift. Still really disheartened about not seeing my name on anything Legacy related.

Tried to make the most of the race weekend, even after a not fun start the morning of the half. I tripped down the last 2 steps leaving my hotel in the morning and was terrified I hurt my ankle. I got kicked in the knee in the corrals (nobodies fault really, someone went to stretch as I was moving back to my spot along the gate - I've got a nice bruise from it too). And I almost had an injury around mile 4 when my foot slipped going from a run to a walk and I got a little too close to the curb. But hey, in the end I PR'd and even got under 2:30 which is something I have said I want to work towards since I finished my first Tink!!

The excitement from that will hold me over for awhile. I didn't think I was anywhere close to ready to pull that out of a run!
