The only way to sell the gondola’s as a non a/c ride is …

Welcome aboard ..on your ride today, you will be acclimatized to the heat you will experience waiting in line for Frozen Ever After…Enjoy your day…ba bye pixiedust:

OK. I guess I'm going to have to be the one to say it. Disney announced way too many things on Saturday. I mean, I haven't even gotten to any of the Disneyland discussions.

I can't keep up with all of this!

The only solution is that they have to quickly complete some of these so they can be taken off of the discussion list - starting with the Space Restaurant. I mean it's just a restaurant. How long do those take to build?

One of my favourite announcements ... my only question is will this be done like the snowscape at BoG of will this be done with giant screens ???

And remember, they said that was just some of what is coming to EPCOT- there is still more news to come!

I'm not sure that I would put that much assurance in an artist's rendering.... you said yourself that the one that they're drawn from is not enclosed, but DON'T look at that one for your gondola facts. :)

Look we can keep arguing points about the gondola (those of us on the actual gondola thread have already been making these arguments for 6 months). Doesn't really matter - it will be what they do. I am simply presenting my evidence why I think they will have AC. (And BTW as my memory serves the Friendship boats have AC. We road them quite a few times in August, and they were certainly not as hot as they would be with no AC. I wouldn't call them cool, but certainly not HOT.)

Via Napoli went from breaking ground to open in seven months. I will note that it broke ground before it was announced.

As far as this restaurant, I'm assuming that they are still working a bit on the technology. I'd expect roughly a year from start of construction until open.

Hey man, I'm with you. I think your speculating without the drawing is way more compelling, that's all I'm saying.

Right - it's like we have some sort of vested interest on one side or the other. I'm personally done with this argument. Either you believe their gonna cook their guests, or you don't. We'll see what happens when it opens.

Well...I'd normally pass this off as a "slow week"...

But for once that doesn't hold any water.

For me...this is an exercise in recognition of common sense.

The argument against goes back to "when I was your age...WE didn't have any air conditioning..." in the Burgess Meredith voice...

Come on, Pete...what do you think the chances really are of them putting people in electric chairs in a no AC box for 20 minutes? It can't be much more than 0%

You know the customers we're talking about...

I'd say at least...

I think much of this stuff is targeted to be phased in 2019-2020 to pull the attention off the Star Wars land.

I know that while disney wants everyone and their dog to rush down there for 2 weeks...they do NOT want 6 hour lines...it's counter productive...

So they have to try and pick off the clientele that are neutral on Star Wars and keep their numbers as balanced as they can.

The Mickey ride is the highest priority by far...I'm gonna guess that ratatuoille is second...and the MK additions are 3rd...

I expect construction of those specific items to roll soon.

The space restaurant is of lower priority and is way more complex than we think...my guess.

For those of you interested, here is a summary of the 2017 brochure for Doppelmayr's gondola projects. (A link to the full brochure is included in the article)

At risk of sparking another five pages of comments from y'all, can't help but note that only one of these recent projects has A/C.

Personally, I think they all look neat, and am looking forward to the completed project in Florida. :)

Martin has come out and said that tests Disney has done have deemed AC for this project unnecessary.

Again - at this stage let's wait and see what we actually get.

I actually detected that...I'm trying to convey to the masses how obvious this is and you are my Lancelot

Hey, at least you didn't call me Guinevere. :goodvibes

Sorry if you said before, but I keep seeing you mention Martin, but who is he & what are his credentials to know things? Just wondering! thanks!
