Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer 2

Hes not Palpatine.

I don't think so - as stated above...

I think they are consciously trying to avoid the awful subterfuge that was the prequels...even though some inexplicably defend it...and palpatine would be TOO obvious.

I wish somebody would put that Wonder Woman lasso on Andy serkis and get this over with...

So my theory, for a small chunk of the movie, and this is from reading a lot of the filming updates...

Luke stops training Rey after he sees the power within her, thus his "The Jedi must end." line. She becomes aggravated, and keeps pushing him to train her. Meanwhile, Kylo finally figures out where Luke is hiding, arrives which leads to the Knights of Ren v. Rey/Luke scene we've heard about. At the end of the fight, Kylo and she have a face to face, and that's where she says she want's "direction." Insert Kylo reaching out to her. He takes her to Snoke.

That's all I got.

God I hope not...though not a bad theory...

Don't kill the main character of the franchise...DON'T!!!

You want carrie fisher to O.D. on space coke?...fine...

But don't take away Lukie.

If Rey goes Dark side, I think the Falcon should revert back the Chewbacca. No dark force user gets to keep the Falcon.

And it just would make the Star Wars Movies too dark

Well it wont do the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs, but it comes with a 10 year bumper to bumper warranty, and has a 5-Star Safety Rating from the IIHS.

Also you can get it in metallic blue.

My wife got a Kia last week...you don't know how right YOU ARE!!!

I should say, I don't think Luke dies. I think that's the scene where he says, "This isn't going to go the way you think it is." as they're leaving.

Then it's Luke, Chewy and R2 in the Falcon. As I do recall he has a scene with Fisher...

Now you're talking...

I want nothing short of luke flying again...preferably leading the final battle in 9...

And yes...fisher and Hamill are on set together in many of the production shots...that all but guarantees at least a scene...

Modern movies and tv shows are shot disjointed...there would be no reason to have them together in costume unless for a scene.

The two main characters on game of thrones didn't have a second together on set for 6 years...crazy if you think about it.

If Rey goes Dark Side, won’t that be a problem with Disney merchandising and little girl empowerment? They have set her up as a heroine and role model for the young girls, right?

If Rey does turn, it would be pretty epic to see Luke battle Kylo and Rey at the same time. Though it is highly unlikely, I think it would make the wait for 9 feel even longer.

"Star Wars is a fairytale for a generation growing up without heroes"

Who wouldn't sign for that now?

...and by the way...why does 9 have to be the last movie?

It's not like they're gonna flame out yet...the story isn't written yet...take a look at it and if you got more...go to episode X...

Why not? Adhering to the original plan...we're off the grid anyway.

Sorry - I’m not really sure what that means...fairytales have heroes and heroines, right?

He was talking about cynicism...specifically post Vietnam. All the big directors were aware of that.

And in this regard, he was right. The world is more cynical than early cinema...and the lines on everything - even good and evil - can be blurred.

A hero/villain can play for Rey...or become notorious...which may be better for disney.

It's not ma, pa, and the 1.5 kids behind the fence anymore watching these movies and hasn't been for decades.

I hope 9 isn't the last one, if there is more to go then I am all game for X and even beyond.

If they can pull something together between this one and the story for 9...then I don't see a real problem. It worked for Harry Potter...

And maybe if you give JJ 4 hours...we can come up with an original scene?

There's no way they stop at 9 anyway...the question is how long do they wait?

Judging by marvel...probably 18 months

I guess the question is...is 9 the last one they're going to do in the Skywalker/Solo chronicles? Because it definitely won't be the last SW movie.

I have said this a thousand times, but I'd love original movies not about the Skywalkers/Solos. Go back in time to when the Sith were more prevalent. Do a movie about an X Wing squad. A movie about smugglers and the criminal underworld. etc etc

the other option I have heard is that vision (Luke vs the Knights of Ren) was a flashback and that is when Kylo/Ben turned on Luke and that when Luke says "this won't go as you expect it" it is to Kylo at this point as he knows Snoke will abuse him (perhaps force drain him)
