****Official May 2019 thread****

I never fly southwest, and it’s literally the closest to me on Long Island, because I keep hearing about them doing this. How frustrating!
Actually almost everyone I know flies SW and never has these issues. Most have told me, based on their experience, it is highly unusual. I guess the good thing is they have several flights, unlike Spirit or Frontier, so we aren't losing any days with the cancellations. And I will be calling SW once the trip is over to discuss this with them. I've heard they are great about taking care of guests but they want to wait til the trip is over first.

Just meant there was another thread about this here in the last day or so. I agree about frontier though. Out of our local airport, Islip, Long Island, it’s either frontier or southwest. Frontier only has one flight a day nonstop to Orlando. We always just to JetBlue from JFK

Good luck. I’m sure it will all work out and you’ll be compensated

I think it probably has to do with the plane issue. That is why we are seeing more of it than usual. Thank you!

JetBlue out of JFK just moved up my departure flight. It's only 20 mins but I had to move my car service up. Will there be any impact on ME?

ME will be fine. When you arrive at MCO you go to ME and check in. They board the buses as you get there and they’re constantly there. They even hold them a little until full (or more people come or more time passes) and then go and then another one comes.

35 days away as of today!!

What last-minute tweaks are y'all needing to make to your plans or are you all set to go?

I'm still trying to get a decent Beaches & Cream reservation. It's my white whale, I fear. I have an ADR for 6 at a time I love, but we're a party of 7. I have reservation finders set up at both websites I'm aware of that do that, so hopefully something will come through. My only problem is, I'm so focused on getting B&C, I don't really have room to look for the other dining I'd like to fix. It's a conundrum. It isn't that B&C is really so amazing, but it's a fun little place to eat and we're bringing along my future dil and she hasn't been to wdw since she was a child. It's also cheap and we're paying OOP for dining this time, except we've got the qs plan for one night at the beginning of our trip just to help pay for our mugs and a couple meals at the start. To be clear, we have one night at AoA before we move over to Pop for the rest of our trip, so we made that a ticketless package and included a dining plan. Anyway, yeah, I have some dining issues to work out but otherwise I'm pretty happy with our plans.

Personally, I don’t see how a middle class family with 3 or 4 kids affords most anything today.
I'm sorry you had your flights rearranged. We ALWAYS fly SWA and have never ever had a problem with flights. I'm certain it's due to the plane issue. I did just check our flights, though....to make sure our flights weren't altered. We can't really leave any earlier since we're working a full day that day although I wish we could move our flight up so we could have Disney take our luggage for us! We don't land until 10:30pm :(

I had to order some shirts because for this trip we are only doing Epcot for F&G and I really had no Epcot shirts. The arrived yesterday! Also, I am part of a big Dis meet up and my DH was supposed to fish with another husband but that couple had to cancel so since no fishing, we can go into Epcot earlier, therefore I modified our FPs to earlier in the day. I need to brush up on flying rules since I haven't flown in about 11.5 years. And I had to take an extra half day off because SW cancelled my flight!

Yes, it must be due to the plane issue. We were scheduled to land at 9:45 so we were going to get our own luggage. Now it is 8:15 but I think we may still get it. I've just heard horror stories of it taking upwards of 4 hours to get to the room and we just don't want to wait that long. I did end up having to take an extra half day and because I'm a teacher and that is the last day of state testing, I was afraid I wouldn't get it approved. But I teach 2nd grade and we don't actually take the tests - the older kids do - so I did get it approved, thank goodness.
