Disney alone as a minor?

Genuinely, what would be the point of making this up?
To cause a ruckus? No, I just want to go to Disney World with my friends.

Here is some info for those of you who can't seem to get past the OP's school schedule.
I live in a state "up north" and this is what is stated under our requirements.

Length of School Day and Year
The law does not mandate specific time periods for nonpublic schools but they should provide instruction for approximately the same time required of public schools:

  • Grades 1-6 - 5 hours daily
  • Grades 9-12 - 5 1/2 hours daily
The nonpublic school's calendar should approximate that of the public school, but it need not be in session for the 180 days required for a public school district to receive its full State aid.

OP, at this point your question has been answered- you definitely need an adult 18 year old to accompany you.
Just leave this thread, posters here obviously aren't trying to help you anymore.

Perhaps instead of responding to the inconsistencies of your school calendar, focus on the suggestions for the solution for you to have the trip you originally posted about?

:rotfl:Please tell me you aren't graduating from high school because if you are, your math teacher should lose their job. We all know you don't have 6 months of vacation per school year. Some of us have children older than you claim to be and know better.
Oh yeah, I am just making this up for fun because I love being yelled at by adults who know nothing about my life. Haha.

Yes, I have done this.
Anyways, I'm going to see if my friend who is 18 would like to come with us.

I will- thank you!
I'm gonna try to get some of my older friends to agree.

Back on track...

You should probably involve a person who is 18 years or older. Anything else would be a gamble.

Yeah, I realized that.
I frequently travel alone to visit family because you can be 14 to fly alone on southwest, so I wasn't sure if there was something similar for hotels.
Thank you!

My kids start the day after Labor Day. They get two days in October, 3 in November, 2 weeks in December, a week "sometime" between mid-Feb and early April (varies each year), and then at Easter, the one in public school gets 2 days and the one in private school gets 3.

Plus all the random other days during the school year - I just counted, and the public kid got 28, private got 26.

They get out the first week of June.

All that being said, Disney isn't as fun as a minor. Wait until you can order a Banana Cabana with your friends :)

What state does this apply to?

What state does this apply to?

NY. I was curious as to what our laws were and I was surprised to see that.
I went to private school, but couldn't tell you how many days we were in session but at the time it definitely felt like forever LOL

I live in NY. My kids go to public school but they have a number of friends in private schools, downstate, upstate. The schedules are basically the same. The requirements may be written that way but I have never heard of any private school getting out more than a month early. We start the week of Labor Day and finals begin the week of June 11th. The OP starts in Early September and finals started last week? That's a 6 week difference.

I have no idea where Common Core fits into the number of school days. The number of days in public schools is the same now as it was before common core.

Ok, so because your kid's friends in private schools have the same schedule that means that the OP must be lying?
And really why do you care so much? Do you get off on making sure some teen girl is proven to be a liar?

Not only a great idea but pretty much you're only option.

So great; this question you asked has been decided. Start planning and please let us all know how your trip goes next year! :earsboy:

Yep you got me LOL

Why do you care so much? You took the time out to research it, to prove the naysayers wrong.
