Do you use it to pick up cat litter? Everything I’ve read online has said to get a shark but I’d love to know your experience with the dyson
It picks up tracked litter pretty well so I use it on the main floors. Our cat boxes are in the corner of the basement so I tend to just sweep and use a shop vac to pick up the pile.

Since we don’t have kids yet I’ve haven’t gone through that. I tried to keep the toys that I loved the most but I guess we’ll see. Dh has nothing from his childhood because his mom is TOO much of a pack rat. Her entire garage is full and you couldn’t find anything in there. It makes me sad because we don’t have any pictures of him from when he was little. We knew we didn’t want to bring a lot with us in the move so that was the main reason for not keeping a lot of it
This is my dh exactly!!! He has nothing and we have no pics. His mom has a 4400sq ft house that is packed to the gills, as is their garage and attic. No one has ever gone through the stuff so he was given nothing. Really sad. I think he has his baseball cards. I was raised by a single mom, who moved all the time so she kept nothing. She was constantly asking me if I wanted things. Back when I was in college and before kids, I always said 'nope'. Now, if she ever comes across anything, which is rare anymore, I say, 'let me take a look before you toss it' :-)

Watching TS3 makes me cry like crazy too. I really just leave the room now once it's almost over. As a mom who saves her dc's most precious toys, why in the world did Andy's mom not have a say in the matter?!?! Why was Andy so willing to hand them over? I just will never get that. It simply makes no sense. Andy's children (or his sister's kids) should be the recipient of those one day
TS3 hurts my mom heart so bad I can't watch the end of it either. My oldest son played with his toys just the same way Andy always did. Even though he's still young, thinking ahead crushes me. Now he's getting rid of more and more toys and I keep having to mom veto a few of them.
We haven't seen TS4 yet but I'm really hoping it's not a disappointment. I never did understand why he didn't just save them for his future kids either!

I hated TS3 because I watched it right before DD left for college and I couldn't stop crying at the end of it. I haven't seen it since. And I totally agree. It makes no sense. I've kept many of DD's toys even though she says she doesn't care about them anymore.

I wonder if WDW will be the same during the StarWars opening, at least at the other parks. I cancelled an August 25 trip because of anticipated crowds.

I intentionally booked for opening day to watch the madness.

I think CBD oil isn't entirely junk science, and it really does help some people. However, it is definitely "the thing" right now & people swear it does everything under the sun. The problem is that, because it's "natural," it doesn't require the usual safety testing. Anybody can produce & market it. I could start up MKTokyo's Medical Miracle Company tomorrow, sell you THC oil (which is illegal) instead of CBD oil, and nobody would find out (unless you get busted with it). Nobody knows how toxic it is. We could find out in 10-20 years that it does irreparable genetic/chromosomal harm. Studies have already found evidence of liver damage in CBD oil users, and the only CBD-derivative medication approved by the FDA specifically warns for potential liver damage. We could be heading toward a medical crisis with this largely unproven substance being used at the rate at which it is currently being used. So, you could not pay me to use it until extensive testing has been completed - even if I could acquire it, which I can't. Obviously, if you're using it for a pet or you're an elderly person/someone with a terminal condition, it doesn't really matter what it does over a period of 20 years.

That is the scary part about it. The only CBD approved drug by the FDA is an anti seizure medication for children. Oddly enough, Gabapentin that works for the nerve damage pain I've got, is also an anti seizure medication. On the upside, the study that was done on the mice with CBD oil that proved liver damage doesn't scare me a great deal. The dosage given to the mice in the sub acute stage was 615mg/kg and used an extraction process that would likely cause liver damage all on its own. The FDA approved anti seizure med that is being used for kids is 20mg/kg. I might take about 1 mg/kg.

There is no regulation so there's all kinds of stuff out on the market which is pretty scary. Then again the FDA doesn't have the funding to test and regulate things it does approve all the time and relies on the companies planning to sell a product to do the testing which is even scarier. But I digress. The brand I use was developed by a physician and has third party lab testing on their products and a lab report for each batch. Like anything else, people have to do what is right for them.

YES! My boys are both a lot like Andy too in how they play. Both so creative and just love their toys. They get new ones here and there but they always return to their favs. I will be saving those toys. It's just NOT an option.

Also, my dd19 had all the Little People stuff. That may be older than your kids, cause I think yours are younger, but she played with the Little People forever. We bought her the town center for her first Christmas at 7mo. At that time, she could just push the buttons and make it sing and go around in a circle. We added on and eventually she had quite a bit. She played with it until she was like 8yo and loved it. I still know all the songs by heart, as does she. All that is in tubs waiting patiently her kids. We got it out with all the other kids but no one else loved it like her so it will be hers.

She will care about them. Once she has her own children.

I’m sure his mom has stuff for him somewhere but he doesn’t want to take the time to look for it and I don’t blame him. My parents had a huge tub plus more of my stuff 😳 My mom kept my first tooth...that’s just not okay. I did take some of my beautiful artwork lol

I'm planning to order some CBD oil...for various reasons and people in my fam...Are you saying you have a brand of oil you like? I'm doing some research and have come across several brands I'm considering. If you know of a good one, will you share (here or pm)? Thank you :)

That is so sweet! We have a ton of the Schleich Animals. My oldest started getting them when she was little and they all love them. We found a huge wooden ark at a garage sale one day and started keeping them in there and calling them "ark animals". Every Christmas all the kids (even the older ones) get a new ark animal in their stocking. Now I look for the silliest one I can find find, last year I think it was a sloth for my oldest. I swear they get played with every day by someone. I have already told my husband that huge ark is staying with me forever so my grandkids can play with it at Grandma's someday.
My oldest son (11 now) recently wanted to get rid of his Buzz, Woody, and Rex. I totally put my foot down and then a few days later I saw he has them out again for a day. I know those days are nearly behind him, but he just loved those toys so much. I think I will save them for his kids someday.

Hi and Welcome....I have been out all day.....so you may have a lot of answers since everyone here is super helpful
Most of us here start applying for Chase credit cards first since they have a 5/24 rule which means they will not approve you for their cards iif you have opened 5 personal credit cards from anyone in the last 24 months.
Their UR points are very versatile and can be used to book hotels, flights etc

If you are okay with opening business cards their Chase Ink Preferred CIP has the largest sign up bonus 80k UR with a $5k spend In the first 3 months....if you open one then refer DH you could have 190 URs between the 2 of you
Best way to open the cards is with your name and SS number as the business name and EIN

If you want to open personal cards apply the Chase Sapphire Preferred has a 60k sign up bonus after a $4k spend....if you refer your DH you would have 143 URs
Thank you. 😁

I kept some of my stuffed animals, artwork, a wooden train set that I loved, a wooden dollhouse with all of the people and furnitures (that I never played with). I think that was about it

@Haley R I have a shark lift away. It will need to be replaced soon because we are pretty rough on vacuums. I love it though. I think we've had it 5 ish years? My husband has replaced a few parts but I consider 5 years a pretty good lifespan for a family my size.
ETA: it should do good with litter, it picks up all the food my kids spill under the table just fine. 😜

Thank you so much. This give me a head start to research. We have both had multiple AS cards and I assume we’ll both open one shortly before we travel with the kids for the companion fares. We like to use the miles in state to visit family. Only 10k miles round trip! You earn a value of 1.5% for regular spending and has the AF so it’s not a good every day card for us.

I didn’t realize Hilton allows free transfers. I’ll get dh a card too. They have a free night with points if you book 4 or 5 in a row. I’d like to do that for our long trip to Disney.

I’ll see if there are any other hotel brands that will meet our needs since Hilton points aren’t great.
not sure if I’m understanding you right but the AS card is a 1% back card. They do currently have a 40k offer which is about as good as it gets. They also have a Farely recent change in that they added the 24 mo language. So my plan is to alternate between my DH & I every two years, as I need AS to fly to see my grands. They do have a business card but I am not familiar with it.
