March Check-In **Official** Thread (Start with Post #17)

I gotta show you guys what I made. My son (5) has seen most of the movies on which attractions we plan to see are based, but not all of them. I made this "Mickey Mystery Movie" holder, where each week he draws a popsicle stick from the Mickey and we have a movie night with that film. That way, he's encouraged to watch something beyond Star Wars and PJ Masks, which, in his opinion, are the only television viewing options needed in this world.

So far, we've seen Star Wars (of course, because he dug through the sticks until he found it 🙄😂) and Tarzan, which he LOVED. When all the sticks are gone, it will be time for our trip!

I don't know why it's sideways....

Oh that’s a clever idea!

When I was 5, my mother bought a “it’s a small world” Golden Book and read it with me — I still remember riding it with her when we visited Disneyland that year. Powerful memories, this stuff.

Going to DL with them now in their 70’s, my Dad has specifically requested not to have to ride IASM “again”. It’s been 35 years and he still hasn’t recovered from the song. ;)

We’ll be there 3/10- 3/14...me, dh,ds7 and ds4!! So excited!! We haven't been in almost 2 years. Trying out BW Stovalls for the 1st time. The countdown is already killing me! Ha!

We stayed at BW Stovalls a couple of years ago and we really enjoyed our stay there. The room was super clean and the free breakfast every morning saved us a lot of money on food every day.

O thank you for saying that!! We usually stay somewhere over on harbor but found a really great rate at Stovalls that I couldn’t resist. I am a little worried about the walk and how to navigate getting to the gates as I have heard conflicting stories and we haven’t been since they moved the security areas around. I’m so glad to hear that you had a good experience there… Makes me feel a lot better. It can always be a little nerve-racking trying out a place for the first time. I tend to just go with what I know LOL.

We are taking a kids-free trip March 11-15th! We are staying at the Four Points by Sheraton. (I've never been there! I hope it's good!)

The walk isn’t bad. You just cross at the crosswalk and go straight until you see the signs for Downtown Disney and turn right there and go through security and continue through Downtown Disney to the parks. It takes us about 15 minutes (myself and a teenager). We stayed there in November. Breakfast is good, rooms are clean and the staff is helpful.
I forgot- you can cut through GCH on the way back and save a few steps. (Just don’t get turned around in there).

It's official. February 29 to March 4. Booked at the convention center Hilton. Haven't stayed there before but we are hoping to walk across the street to the Toy Story lot to take the shuttle. It will be my daughters (7) first time going with a friend and it's a surprise trip for both of them as well. Can't wait!

What is the best option for a family of four(one 2 year old) to travel from LAX to the parks and back? We were planning on using the shuttle, but now that is shut down and I don't see anything replacing it. We are planning on using Uber or Lyft, but I would love to be able to not have to bring a child seat on the trip and to schedule in advance.

I've looked at several ride options like Supershuttle.com but they're shutting down and both Primetimeshuttle.com and Shuttle2LAX.com have terrible reviews.

If anyone has other options they can share, please let me know.
Look through the first post here and ask your ground transportation questions in this superthread: Airport Proximity to DLR and Ground Transportation Information Superthread. Lots of other DISers have the same questions and concerns as you do and are discussing them in that thread!

Thank you guys. I showed the lansky website to the wife and since they were about 60 bucks more but had child seats, we booked with them. It was the last piece to the trip that was up in the air.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

Sailing Ship Columbia looks to only be closing for refurb, February 3rd and re-opening February 7th .
This is according to the official Disneyland calender .

Looks like all of us March (and most of February) peeps are ok on this one .
Perfect! I will pull it off the post. Thank you.

Im so excited I booked today for my son and I for the week of March 9th! He’s never been and I haven’t been back since 2015. We are staying at the Paradise Pier but are thinking about changing it to the DL Hotel. My son has his heart set on the pool their but I don’t think it will be warm enough to go swimming!
