Category 7 A on The Wish

It’s really not that bad, IMO. You still get a lovely view of the water, just slightly less panoramic. Hope your cruise is great! 🎉

Why did Disney Destroy the Magic & Wonder?

There have been some changes to the atrium on the Magic and Wonder, but it really didn't change that much. It's still a beautiful ship and well worth sailing on. Nothing has been destroyed. Disney Imagineering designed the atrium originally and Disney Imagineering designed the changes. So you...

QS meal credit turned into snack credits?

Do you have inside information about this? Or are you going by the responses on PlanDisney? If they do stop allowing this trade, I'll be a bit surprised, because on paper it's very favorable to Disney. Disney would love people to use a QS that's "worth" about $25 on three snacks, because snacks...

Everything Genie, Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane - Please Read Posts 1-7

In general it has been in the past 3:1 most of the time, with the ability go to 10:1 or 100:1 for short periods if the Lightning Lane fills up. I think the system would fall apart if they were 10:1 all the time. Interviews with ex-imagineers suggest that Disney has always wanted as many people...

Everything Genie, Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane - Please Read Posts 1-7

I don't think that's necessarily true. The best analyses I've seen say that roughly 75% of the capacity of a ride is allocated to Lightning Lane, which is the same as it was for FastPass and FastPass+. Keep in mind, the 75% is a rough target over time. The actual ratio varies from moment to...

    Current wait time surprisingly low?

New article about the recent low crowds from CNN Business. It has a few choice quotes from charming Disney nerd Don Munsil. :rolleyes1 https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/13/business/disney-world-universal-orlando-attendance-down/index.html

Tickets and Annual Pass Questions - Please add your ticket questions to this thread

You get nothing back. Disney will never refund money on a ticket exchange, except under unusual circumstances (i.e. Disney messed something up). If your ticket costs more than the ticket you want, see if you can return it and pay the restocking fee, then buy the ticket you want.

Tickets and Annual Pass Questions - Please add your ticket questions to this thread

Broadly speaking, any valid, unexpired ticket can be traded toward another ticket. Occasionally there will be exceptions, but there's no reason to think that wouldn't work. You'll have to do it over the phone or in person. If the ticket is visible in your account, and costs less than the 4-park...

QS meal credit turned into snack credits?

The way it worked before was that you could trade in one QS credit for three snack items, in one transaction at one location. To do it, you just pick out three snacks and ask them to charge a QS credit. Some kiosk-type locations weren't eligible. Whether they will continue that policy in 2024...

Tickets and Annual Pass Questions - Please add your ticket questions to this thread

This did happen sometimes in previous years, possibly because the computer system the ticketing staff used required an extra step to apply the retail price to a wholesale ticket. It hasn't happened recently, to the best of my knowledge, and I'm pretty sure the current software automatically...

Tickets and Annual Pass Questions - Please add your ticket questions to this thread

I wonder how they handle leap years? Do you get an extra day if Feb 29 happens during the period of your annual pass?

Disney Wish Bump Out rooms obstructed

We have not stayed in one of those rooms, but I did look at them from our verandah, and from what I could see they had the openable dividers.

Tickets and Annual Pass Questions - Please add your ticket questions to this thread

Most Disney discounts in the past have been room-only (with the option to add tickets for a package). But as you say, not all. Free dining and Stay, Play & Dine have always been package-only. And they have occasionally offered a straight room-and-ticket package only discount. So it's hard to...

Tickets and Annual Pass Questions - Please add your ticket questions to this thread

The price of Park Hopper and Park Hopper Plus will go up for multi-day tickets (and possibly other add-ons), if reports are to be believed. I suspect that there will be other increases, but that's purely my guess based on experience with other price increases.

Tickets and Annual Pass Questions - Please add your ticket questions to this thread

No, to make a park reservation you need a ticket that's valid on that date. You could just buy tickets that begin a day earlier to begin with, as long as they're valid on the dates you want to go. But you also need enough separate entry days to cover all your reservations. So if you have 2-day...

What to do on Nassau Island?

We liked the Ardastra Gardens & Zoo. It's quite small, but it's nice and they have some good exhibits. You can easily just take a cab for maybe $10-15 each way from the cruise terminal. Technically it's a walkable distance, but it's kind of a pain to find and tucked in among private houses with...

DRURY at Disney Springs accepting reservations! Oct. 27, 2022 and beyond.

The Drury near Universal is, as you say, not going to have the same Early Entry privileges, and is far enough away that you'd really need a rental car, so if those are going to be a problem, I'd look at some of the other Disney Springs Area hotels. We like the Buena Vista Palace quite a bit, and...

Holland America (Koningsdam) with kids/teens vs DCL - my thoughts

A great overview! We agree - Holland America and Princess are pretty hard to beat for Alaska. One other thing we like about Holland America is that their embarkation and disembarkation are super smooth. Generally when you get on the ship, the staterooms are ready! You don't have to wait until...
