Orca encounter anyone done this ?

I booked the Orca tour since the walrus tour isn't available, and I'm super excited! I have a question though, I forgot to add the photo add on when I booked it (and the sea lion tour) online, do I need to go back and order that online before I leave, or can I add it on & pay for it when I get...

Has the walrus had her calf yet? Isn't she due any day now?

Renaissance vs. all the other 'Official' Sea World Hotels

Thank-you Floir...the Residence being 1.1 miles puts the whole map into better perspective. While 1.1 miles at the end of an exhausting day may be a bit much...it looks like the Hilton Garden is about half way in between...so should be around a half mile walk, which sounds much more reasonable...

Renaissance vs. all the other 'Official' Sea World Hotels

How come Renaissance is, in several cases almost twice as much money than the other 'official' hotels??? Am I missing something that makes them worth so much more extra money? The only reason they're even on my radar is they appear to be an easy walking distance should I miss a shuttle to or...

How often do you park hop?

I don't think I've ever spent a day @ DL w/o park hopping at least twice a day...and probably as many as 4-5 times.

    Solo traveling

Agree with above...strike up convos w/ people around you...I've been 'adopted' many times. Yes, even for meals. I've been adopted by everyone from families, another lady about my age traveling solo from England (we had the BEST DAY EVER together), g'mas & g'pas (they're the ones that are most...

How long is your solo trip

My shortest was 5 days / 6 nights...my longest was 8 days / 9 nights...it all depends if I only do Disney, or if I do others things too...like Sea World, San Diego Zoo (when I go to DL), Universal, take sight seeing tours...and on my longest one, I added a day to go to a dog show that I knew a...

    Keeping Costs Down

To keep costs down I do the following...stay during the 'off' season; stay at a value or moderate hotel; keep my eye open for 'specials' and choose the one that saves me the most money it goes back & forth between a percentage off the room or free dining; don't rent a car - I rely only on the...

Dumb question? Should I plan for rain?

Um...no. I have only been to DL in Sept.; I have only experienced a very mild sprinkle (twice) in all my trips. The longest one lasting 15 minutes. Neither one even worth breaking out an umbrella, let alone the need for a poncho. The upside to it is, the locals all run for cover or indoors...

    MNSSHP - solo?

I've done it solo twice...and would do it again. Absolutely loved it. Most rides are walk on while the families take their kids trick or treating. The parade & fireworks are not to be missed...and call me a dork, but I love the villain dance party in front of the castle. Bucket list item for...

Booking DC w/ 14 days SW (How do I upgrade DW visits)

OK...so if I book through DC for the DC plus 14 days @ SW & Aquatica...how on earth do I do add-ons to the SW visits? The only thing it will let me upgrade to is Dine w/ Shamu, quick queue, or all day dining (these are the only extras I can find that I can choose from). I want to add some...

    POFQ solo or??

I always stay @ POFQ...I love it as a solo resort. I like the compactness of it, no matter where you are, it's never a far walk to anything. And bonus points for having the boat rides to & from DS. They're relaxing, and I like the close proximity for being able to go there for any meal & not...

    Discovery Cove and bad weather

Curious myself...I see the policy for hurricanes, but nothing about all day rain or thunderstorms. Common sense tells me they wouldn't be able to allow people in the water if there are lightening strikes within a certain distance...but then what happens if it's all day rain or back to back...

    Solo non-park day ideas

You can go to Sea World in SD, or to the SD Zoo...they have buses that pick you up & drop you off @ the hotels & whisk you away to those locations for little day trips...I think it's the same bus co. that does the OC Beach tour. I have done all three & I believe they were all the same bus company.

What "extra" during the "down season" would you book?

Another vote for WoC dessert party...my favorite Disney add on of all that I've tried...would mosdef do again...and again...and I think you get the point.

    Discovery Cove Ticket Redesign

Well this just stinks! I was planning a DC vacay next May, and was counting on the unlimited admission to SW & Aquatica to spend a total of 3 days @ SW & 1 day @ Aquatica. My 3rd day @ SW, I was going to add a couple of tours, & a dine w/ Shamu meal. Now that the max I can add is 3 days, that...

    Sprint Cell Service

I have Sprint & had absolutely no problems at all...and I was on it constantly looking stuff up on the DL app to check lines, characters, etc. And numerous times a day posting pix to facebook, and texting friends & family.

Disney World veteran visiting Disneyland with wuesrions

    1. Best way to get here from LAX? I've only used super shuttle, and it works well for me. 2. Can you pool hop to GCH and DLH? Same policy as WDW...no pool hopping unless your resort pool is closed for refurb. 3. Do I need to make dining reservations If I want to go to a table service...

    SNA- "scariest" airport? (takeoffs)

I would take SNA over LAX any day. LAX scares me on take-offs...SNA is smooth coming & going. Also, the terminals aren't as crowded & scary. And because of this, security runs much faster / smoothly.

Considering a solo trip end of June........

I only do solo trips to Disney...plopping down that much money, I want to do what I want, when I want, eat what I want, when I'm hungry, rest when I'm tired, and go-go-go when I want. I actually find it freeing & more enjoyable not having to cater to other's whims...and thus feel like I get...
