I wonder how many of the "for" votes were people like me who couldn't vote their shares because disney failed (and then refused) to give them their proxy information or control number

From CBSMarketwatch:

About 38% of Disney shareholders vote vs. Eisner (DIS) By Jon Friedman
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- About 38 percent of the shareholders of the Walt Disney Co. voted against Chairman Michael Eisner (DIS) at the annual shareholder meeting Wednesday in Philadelphia. Stanley Gold, who had resigned unhappily from the Disney board late last year, predicted earlier during the meeting that 40 percent of the Disney shareholders would vote to register "withhold" votes for Eisner. Gold and another former Disney director, Roy Disney, have been carrying out a relentless campaign for months to convince the Disney board to dismiss Eisner as chairman as well as chief executive officer.

I thought there was something magical about 30% that kicked other board rules into play giving stockholder the opportunity to propose their own slate next time.
There is an SEC proposal to require this if 35% is reached, but it is only a proposal.

What's significant about 30 is that Disney braced the public for about 30%, and its also more than any CEO ever received before.

The thing to remember is that every "non-vote" goes with the board. Of those who voted, its likely "withhold" is well over 50%.

The yes vote was approximately 1.007 billion, the no vote was exactly 771,691,297.

My mistake, I was so excited about the 43% I made the typo.:o

I kinda feel bad for him. What a slap in the face. Should I feel bad, I always feel bad for the loser, much like I am going to feel for Boo after FB is done.

Lisa..............I heard 1 billion 7 million (as did others), or approximately 1.0 billion for (1,007,715,682 to be exact. That puts the withhold vote at 43%.........which is what CNBC has reported.

Here are the numbers I recorded:

Bryson: 1,383,438,--- For and 395,958,--- Withheld

22.3% Withheld

Eisner: 1,007,715,--- For and 771,691,--- Withheld

43.4% Withheld

Estrin: 1,378,428,--- For and 400,984,--- Withheld

22.5% Withheld

Mitchell: 1,351,208,--- For and 428,498,--- Withheld

24.1% Withheld

OK my math 771,691,297 and 1,700,715,682 gives me 45%....

The YES vote was approx. 1.007 billion not 1.7 billion. .771/(1.007+.771) = 43.36% against Eisner.

1,007,715,682 + 771,691,297 = 1,779,406,979

771,691,297/1,779,406,979 = 43.36%

Does any one know why they held the metting in PA? Is that a buisness thing? It was mentioned earier about the metting being held at WDW. Just wondering.....

Stanley Gold said yesterday if he gets the numbers they (savedisney) were hoping for it will be the beginning of a long process to out ME....He thinks they will try to split the CEO/Chairman and leave Eisner....but the end result they will be pressing for is a Split but Eisner is out totally...

Speculation is that its because Philly is Comcast's headquarters and that Eisner originally approved of the merger.

...and what does everyone think will happen to the others, like Mitchell?

The meeting was planned way before the Comcast offer.
