I remember that. Only since we don't have plans is why I'd consider rolling the dice
I can't find the original post where you were talking about this, so I am not sure of your reasoning to switch dates. I switch ours around quite a bit at different times on different cards. Just the other day on one of these calls they said they can switch it and it will take effect as long as it is over 30 days out. So today is the 17th. If I switched the closing date to a date before the 17th of the month like say the 14th, it wouldn't close until the 14th of Jan because the 14th of Dec is less than 30 days. If I wanted to switch it to a date after the 17th, like the 20th, it would close the 20th of Dec because that is further away than 30 days.
The other day I called on a few of our cards and switched the close date to the 7th of the month, but I called after Nov 7th (just coincidentally, I didn't realize the exact policy). So I actually now have quite a few cards that aren't closing between now and Jan 7th. Which is great for me as an added bonus because they are business cards and will have a lot of charges that I am happy not to pay anytime soon, but not what I set out to achieve when I called - I just wanted the statement close date on my new cards to line up with my other ones!
This was Amex (BGR and BB) though, so I am not sure if they all work the same or not?
