Thanks!! I was SUPER pumped about Bert, obvs lol, and i love the way the photos turned out!

Thank you so much!!! I'll be sure to pass that along to Kara too since some of them are hers!

Bahaha, right?! I was so sad I missed the princess backpack memo!! I'll have to remember for next time!

Since we were in the area, and we all love us some Beauty and the Beast, we headed into the Fantasyland Theater for the Beauty & the Beast show! We were all super excited that the shows had been switched back to it & Tangled now, back in Oct Kara & I hadn’t even thought to check it out since it was still Frozen, and we were just sick of it, lol. We managed to get some decent seats and waited for the show to begin.

The…maidens…I guess they’re called…came out first and interacted with the kids/crowd for a bit, explained a little bit of interaction things to do during the show, and then the show started.

The two guys came out first and did a little song & dance number and announced the story they’d be telling today, naturally, they also played all of the parts, except for the princess of course!

Guys. Seriously. If you’re in Disneyland, PLEASE GO SEE THESE SHOWS!!! THEY ARE PERFECTION!! The two hosts are super derpy, it’s a campy, kinda super cheesy re telling of the original stories. We were laughing through so much of it, and there were moments we were definitely reminded of Hoop Dee Doo. One of the guys (who played Gaston too, in the pic above) was so much like 6 Bits at Hoop it was just all perfection!

They even do the waltzing, and I do remember a rather hilarious “teaching the Beast manners/dancing” segment that was amazing.

But don’t worry, the Beast turns back into the Prince, and they live happily ever after as per usual. Seriously. Go check out the shows…here’s the link…

The show was amazing, and the songs stayed stuck in our head for the rest of the day. We’d knocked out one princess thing so far, and now it was Abby’s turn to meet her doppleganger for the day, so we headed back to Adventureland since we knew Aladdin & Jasmine would be coming out pretty quickly.

Abby went up first & had a nice little chat with the pair, and Genie, who was happy to see her again, he started to play around with her earrings which was super funny. Now, I seriously can’t find the picture of her with them…I don’t know where it went missing, but it’s nowhere to be found now! Wahhhh.

Kara & I went up together after, we chatted about similar stuff, commented on our outfits, everyone seemed to like them, so that was fun!

With a bunch of entertainment options done for the day, we wanted to try and get on another ride, so we crossed over into Tomorrowland, which was seriously such a hot mess the entire time we were there! The plan was to get a Space Mountain fp, but the return time wouldn’t fit into our plans at ALL. SO, we did what was the obvious choice and crossed the park again, back to the castle hub area, and decided we would check out the princess meet and greet.

The wait was SUPER short, and the sign said a “royal guest” was in the hall, so we were really hoping Aurora was one of them!

13173374_10156986583855360_1911846933322042596_o by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

Cinderella was up first, she commented on our lovely dresses, and guessed who we each were, and definitely thought that I was her… #nope….sorry girl. Lol. She commented that Aurora was going to LOVE that though, so it was okay.

13227716_10156986583865360_3724288076656743032_o (1) by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

Snow was next, she was super cute, we had similar chats, I don’t remember much, but it was good!!

We rounded the corner into the third little area, and YAY IT WAS AURORA!! Seriously so happy, I would’ve been SO bummed to be in HER kingdom and bounding as her in blue, and not get to see her!

I went up first to say hi and get a solo picture, and as I was walking up, something happened with the photopass camera. The guy wasn’t even touching it, but the lens hood FLEW off into the meet & greet area out of NOWHERE. Now….this sounds pretty tame and lame at that, but for some reason, it CRACKED AURORA UP SO FRIGGIN HARD, which caused ALL of us to seriously LOSE it.

IMG_9261 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

IMG_9262 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

Seriously none of us could keep our stuff together…

IMG_9260 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

We did manage to get a little bit of conversation in through the laughing fit, she understood that I was her and appreciated it obviously. We also attempted to take a picture while trying to not cry from laughing so hard.

IMG_9265 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

I also asked if we could twirl, since I really wanted that picture/video!

IMG_9415 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

We found that that really helped the giggle fit calm down a bit, and Aurora commented to the photography (who was also nearly in tears) that he should do it too to help out the situation. Then everyone jumped in for a cute princess picture!

13161937_10156986584180360_2469327758836866312_o by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

Giggle fit STILL going on, we thanked Aurora, and still laughing made our way out of the hall, commented that we were having SUCH different luck with the face characters this trip, and they were all hilarious and perfect! Since we were on a roll with meet and greets, we knew a Wookie who was calling our names, so….yup…we TREKKED BACK TO TOMORROWLAND, even though we’d just been there…

SAD THING WAS…Chewie’s line was CLOSED at the time, waaaaahhhh, the attendant commented that Kylo was still seeing guests, and we decided being TERRIFIED seemed like a good thing to do next, so sure.

IMG_9269 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

It was seriously terrifying. They CLOSED the door behind us after they loaded us in behind another pair, and Kylo seriously CAME OUT OF NOWHERE into the doorway to the people in front of us. Then it was our turn, and it was just as scary lol. He was WAY taller than I remembered him being in Florida and just as creepy.

NO THANK YOU.

Kara loved it though…naturally…

We checked the times guide for the next Fantasyland Faire show, since they switched to Tangled in the afternoon, but didn’t have quite enough time to make it back there, so we figured now would be a good time to park hop over to DCA!

Our first trip into California Adventure and our first stop was naturally for FOOOOOOD.

And it was from our favorite place, and despite us saying that we maybe needed less carbs today, we all ended up with BREAD BOOOWWWLLLSS.

IMG_9291 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

Seriously. What else were we gonna get?! It was also just that tiny bit chilly, so soup really hit the spot for lunch! While we were eating, there were obviously some birds around the area (nothing like the seagulls in wdw, but still some pigeons) well, one decided it needed to take off into flight, and FLY RIGHT AT/OVER our table, which freaked us all out and resulted in us screaming which was rather hilarious after the fact. Lol. I finished eating, and decided that I was going to grab a beer from the nearby cart!

They had an amber one I was going to debate, until I noticed one was named “Red Trolley Ale” well, anything related to Trolley I was going to get!!

IMG_9271 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

While in line, I noticed Zach & Theresa who we’d ran into the day earlier, they stopped to chat for a bit, and then moved over to chat with Abby & Kara too. Meanwhile, Abby took selfies with her Tsum Tsums.

Our next order of business was to head to the animation academy, but since I wasn’t sure if I could go in with a beer, we took a detour through Carsland first!

I really wanted to do a nighttime Carsland photoshoot, but sadly we never ended up in DCA at night except for World of Color! Sad days! Add it to the list for next time!

We eventually made it over to the Animation Building and headed inside to the MAGICAL AWESOMENESS

13151892_10156967623545360_2670940311639208732_n by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

We spent a little bit standing/sitting in the main area where all the projections are just trying not to cry, like, it’s just so perfect and beautiful in there! However we did have a mission to get downstairs to the Beast’s library, so we headed down that way.

IMG_4727 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

Kara went twirling into the library being SUPER adorable, and I’m so glad I managed to catch the moment on camera!

IMG_4729 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

IMG_4730 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

We played on the little “which character are you” things,

IMG_4734 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

Kara & I both got a character from Cars that we knew nothing about. Makes sense since we’re the same person, but like, why’d it have to be Cars?!

IMG_4737 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

Just a girl and her library.

IMG_4739 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

Our adventures finished off and we headed back up to the main room and continued to sit there for probably half an hour while we listened to/watched everything and had all the feels. Abby sang along to most of the songs, and she pulled out her mini Punzie to watch everything too. We eventually decided we should move on, so we collected our things and exited through the gift shop, attempting to not buy everything on our way out. It was when we stopped for a bathroom break that we realized SOMEONE WAS MISSING! Abby had lost little Punzie!! She obviously went RUNNING back into the Animation Bld to try and find her, she checked the areas where we’d been, and asked at the desk, and THANK GOD SOMEONE HAD TURNED IT IN!!!! We joked about how someone probably thought it was some small child’s belonging who would be devastated without it….and I mean…half of that was right…lol.

We’d had one thrill so far today, so it seemed like time for another AWESOME one, and California Screamin was our next stop! It should also be noted that this is the ONLY inverted coaster I’ve been on, and probably only one I will go on, lol. The wait was posted at 15 mins, and we only waited about that long. It was obviously super fun!!

We took our time circling Paradise Pier on the way out, and enjoyed the little bit of sunshine we were finally getting!

And with that, it was back over to Disneyland Park! The wonders of park hopping in California are seriously my favorite, it’s JUST SO EASY AND QUICK !!

Oh, I'm excited to find this!

I started following you on instagram while you were working at WDW after reading an old TR at some point or another, and it's fun to read about this DLR adventure :-)

Love all these pictures and can't wait to see it all in person in 8 dayssss!!

I wish I could have seen the Tangled or Beauty and the Beast show when I was there! It was still just Frozen then :(

Love that you got to meet Aladdin Jasmine and genie all together!

Yay glad you got to meet Aurora!

Love the selfie of you guys in front of Paradise Pier!

This has been a really fun trip report, thanks for sharing! Makes me want to drag a friend along instead of heading out solo when I head back in November.

Since we were in the area, and we all love us some Beauty and the Beast, we headed into the Fantasyland Theater for the Beauty & the Beast show! We were all super excited that the shows had been switched back to it & Tangled now

Is this the "Story Telling" at the Royal Theatre? I wouldn't have known that's what was happening there if you hadn't mentioned it!

Playing catch up again.

So many wonderful meet and greets! I'm excited for the characters at DL, they seem so much easier to meet.

Playing catch up again.

So many wonderful meet and greets! I'm excited for the characters at DL, they seem so much easier to meet.
yay! i honestly think we lucked out with a lot of ours, i still dont know which method of characters i like better, i like knowing exactly who i can meet, where and when, we stumbled across a bunch in dlr, but there may have been ones that we wanted to meet that we couldn't find, it's a different situation, thats for sure!

As we crossed back into Disneyland we noticed that Belle was out doing meet and greets at the entrance!! Obviously, we had to stop for that.

Since it was actually hot now, we spent some time browsing the shops, Kara & Abby were both looking for the Attractions Posters that they’d neglected to buy in WDW in February, but were having NO luck whatsoever. To compensate not finding them, we decided a treat was in order!

YAAAASSSSSS so much yum!! The line was horrendously long, and the kids behind us were SUPER obnoxious & rude, kept bumping into us and grabbed onto Kara’s backpack to help hoist himself up as he climbed on the fence….how bout no?

IMG_9311 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

IMG_9274 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

Kara & I opted for the float while Abby just got the ice cream. I loved that it came with a super cute umbrella & cherry here!

IMG_9277 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

We took our treats over to Main Street to grab a spot for Soundsational and just relax for a bit. It was on this walk that we encountered the Dapper Dans singing their way up Main Street. One of them came right up to Abby and took her Dole Whip right out of her hands and started to walk away, he obviously gave it back, but it was rather hilarious. We caught the end of it on video, which is what you see in our trip video.

The challenge of finding spots for the parade wasn’t too hard today, we found nice curbside spots, and were happy to be sitting for a while, especially while we enjoyed our treats. We were a bit apprehensive about the parade, and when we’d been planning the trip, we said we only needed to see it once. When Kara & I saw it in Oct the energy levels weren’t there, the dancing wasn’t that great, and it just seemed BLAH, and Abby had a similar experience when she was there previously. Would it be the same experience this go around?

IMG_4761 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

Well, here comes the start of it, let’s see how it does! Also…be prepared for just ALL of the pictures when it comes to parades. I’ll pick my favorites, but still, there’s a lot of those…

It was somewhere around the second unit of the parade that Kara & I looked at each other seriously in AWE. Soundsational was kicking its OWN butt, it was SO MUCH BETTER! Seriously…exact same parade, but everyone was KILLING it today!

We also noticed that there were SIGNIFICANTLY more performers than the last time we’d seen the parade. Not just the dancers, but even like, the 3 Caballeros hadn’t been there the last time we watched it!

IMG_5010 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

All the flapper style dancing is seriously just my favorite, the jazz music, the whole PaTF movie is one of my favorites, the only downside to it’s unit in Soundsational is that Lottie’s not in there! Seriously, just make one of the dresses pink & give her a blonde wig and that’s ALL I NEED IN LIFE.

Flap like a birdie!

IMG_5065 by Katt mccluskey, on Flickr

YAAAAAASSSSSS.

So….what were our final thoughts on seeing Soundsational again?

WE ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY LOVED IT.

Seriously.

I don’t know WHAT it was about seeing it before vs this trip, I know there were various units that had more people in them, and everyone’s energy was INSANE! The performers gave us SO much love and cuteness and attention and it was just all together a WONDERFUL experience. We thought maybe it was because we’d been seeing FoF on a regular basis before we saw this, and now we weren’t? I also thought it might have been just being behind my camera for a parade again, BUT, either way, the parade was wonderful and we loved everyone in it too!

It was about that time of day that we usually left the park (aka, after the parade is over and the park is just too crowded and hot). Neither was too bad now, but we had wanted to go back to the hotel and change before dinner! We decided to walk back out the opposite side, and NOT through DTD this time, and discovered a CVS on the way, which was a major bonus since we needed to pick up a few things. We grabbed some essentials, and picked up some alcohol since dinner wasn’t going to have any, but it felt like it should, and at the til noticed the Smart Water was only $1.50 so we each bought multiples of that! (it was cheaper in DLR than WDW, but still way overpriced).

Our hotel break was quick, we really only had a bit of time to change, I copied some photos onto my computer, we each had a drink, and just relaxed. I had brought a different dress to wear that night, but it was a maxi dress and both the other girls were wearing shorter dresses so I ended up not even changing, bahaha!

Where was our lovely dinner reservation may you ask?

IMG_9281 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

YAAAAASSSSS. It was originally supposed to be a bit of a birthday celebration for me/Kara, but we either didn’t have time to stop for birthday buttons, or forgot on the way in, but it ended up being marked on the resso anyways. We arrived right on time, and didn’t have to wait long before we were seated!

IMG_9283 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

13227766_10156989364545360_7625590908361262367_o by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

It’s super cool in there, we were a bit disappointed to be seated SUPER close to the entrance, and super far from the water, but honestly, I didn’t expect a waterside table, I’d just been hoping. (gotta do the first lunch resso for that!). Our server came over and Kara & I both got Mint Juleps while Abby got the other specialty drink!

IMG_9302 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

We took a few minutes to look over the menus while we munched on some more bread, and quickly decided that we were the easiest table ever because we were all going to get the same thing! Our server was quick and attentive, and we thought it’d be a good night!

IMG_9284 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

Everyone started off with the Gumbo! (it comes with the entrée’s, either that or a salad I believe) GUYS! Seriously, it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! None of us could get enough, and I crave it like, daily, I would’ve been more than happy to just eat a giant bowl of gumbo for dinner! However, we each had a delicious feast coming out to us!

IMG_9285 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

Surf & Turf! Filet mignon with a delicious lobster tail & some cheesy potatoes; it was so good!! Obviously not on par with Le Cellier, BUT still SUPER DELICIOUS! (clearly that’s the theme here). At some point while we were eating, someone came over to ask if we wanted TOP UPS ON OUR SPECIALTY DRINKS!!!!

FOR FREE!!!

GUYS!! THEY’RE BOTTOMLESS!!

We had no idea that they were, so we’d been savoring the drinks in hopes to make them last, but once we knew we could refill them we were chugging them back lol! Dinner was super tasty, and our plates were cleared relatively quickly, and then we decided on desserts, there was some kind of crème brulee that both Abby & Kara got, while I got the chocolate dessert.

IMG_9312 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

IMG_9286 by Katt McCluskey, on Flickr

And a birthday candle! And as you can tell, it looks pretty plain…and it was…it was around this point that our meal started to turn not so great. My dessert was disappointing, definitely not worth the money, and the service started to slack…MAJORLY. He dropped the bill off, but we all needed cards, we were going to try and figure it out ourselves, but he came swooping by to grab the billfold & took it with Abby’s card in it, so we had to stop him. He asked if we wanted it split, left it on the table, and said he’d do that right away. We watched him go over to the POS station, wait for someone to finish, and then he kinda just disappeared.

He came back over AGAIN to ask if we were ready, and we said, AGAIN, that we needed it split. He left again, then greeted another table, got them drinks, bread, and still had yet to return to our table… we ended up waiting TWENTY MINUTES JUST TO GET OUR BILLS. THEN he had to still run through the cards. I’m pretty sure I paid partial cash, partial card since I’d left my cash specifically for BB in the room by accident! It kinda put a damper on our night, especially since we’d obviously wanted to see the fireworks since they’d been cancelled the night before!!

FINALLY we were all wrapped up, and in a grump mood while we attempted to RACE back to Main Street to TRY and grab a spot for the fireworks, THANK GOD they had been delayed again tonight, it was as if they were waiting for us! We squeezed into the street and despite being blocked by a tree, we were there! AND THEN THEY STARTED!

YAY!!

There were ALL the feels, obviously, and it was awesome to see the actual fireworks too, even if there was a tree in the way! When they were over, we discussed what to do with the rest of our evening. The marathon was the next morning, so Kara was all about going home to sleep, Abby was indecisive, and I kinda wanted to stay since the park was open late, at least to take pictures. Abby decided that it would be best to sleep instead of stay out, and I felt uncomfortable walking home through Anaheim ALONE in the dark, so I opted to leave with them, just seemed like a better idea.

It took us about 30 mins to walk back to the Hilton, and we were all in bed pretty quickly.

Your photos are so awesome - love the photo of Ariel in the sky (4879) in particular - but they are so wonderful they give us the feels just looking at them!

The meal looks delicious! Too bad it ended on a not so great note. But - bottomless drinks!! Yay!

Blue Bayou sounds amazing!!! I didn't realize there was enough an option for waterfront seating!?! How awesome. Thumbs up on the bottomless specialty drinks....HUGE thumbs down on the credit card delay at the end.

Belle in her yellow dress!

The parade looks really neat although it seems somewhat similar to FOF at WDW? I'm not sure how many parades we will see as my Mom, brother & SIL are not into them.

Your meal at Blue Bayou looks awesome! Even though your dessert was plain I think I would love it. Plain desserts are right up my alley.

Thank you so much!!! We do both excel at parade photography!!

It was awesome!!! The damper on the night wasn't too bad either, it put us in a tired sour mood, but nothing too bad

It was great! And yeah, it's like the Mexico location in wdw, you can do waterside seating, but it's more by chance when it gets later, I've heard it's easier to get at lunch!

Lol, and here we were, super excited to see her in blue later on! Lol, I guess cause we usually see her in parade/dining. It's not really similar to me at all, minus ariel flipping around, and the royals being together, the music in the PP section is very similar but apparently its the same writer/creator so there's that? It was great, but if you're only watching limited parades, MAKE SURE TO DO PAINT THE NIGHT, then Soundsational, THEN pixar! Lol.
BB was great!
