My little girl is going to be nameless!

This sounds so familiar. My DH and I went around and around for both our girls names.

We have Alexis Leighana and Audrey Marie now. I personally liked Jacqueline Ann, but my hubby hated the name. He liked Elizabeth Marie, but we have two in the family already.

My sister in law though has a unique name -Shara.

Good luck. Like some other posters mentioned, sometimes once you see the baby you know immediately what their name is going to be.

Best Wishes.

Well, we had a difficult time naming both our children - heck, we had a tough time naming our pets:laughing:
We didn't have an official "name" until after they were born. DS we named within minutes of his birth but DD ...
It was hours before she had a name!

Anyway, here are some names DH and I considered when trying to find one we could both agree on:

Rachael (DH loved this name)

Elise (my favorite but DH wasn't crazy about it )

Natalie

We ended up choosing Carolynne for her name. I liked that it sounds feminine but isn't overly popular. Also, I'm a fan of nicknames for little girls and we intend to call her Carrie - which is cute.

Good luck choosing! Most importantly, I hope you have a healthy, strong, happy baby girl! CONGRATS:yay:

I had Kennedy on my list too. DH did not like it at all. He said it reminded him of the VJ on MTV. The freaky one. :rotfl2:

I do like the differeny spelling of Averi. That is cute!

Kristine

That's funny! That's exactly why our last one wasn't named "Kennedy". That VJ was freaky.

These are the names of my girls...
Karlie
Kassandra (Kassie)
Kenzie (went with that cuz she is the last and her nick name is "Z")

I also considered Khloe (wish I would have gone with that)
I like K names...mine is "Kerrie" and my sisters are "Kim" and "Kristie"

Good luck to you! I'm sure she will be beautiful. One thing I must warn you about. I have one boy and he is WAY easier than any of my girls. My girls tend to be whiney....drives me nuts!!

May daughter is Carly and I love that name. You don't have to worry about nicknames either!

My oldest is "Karlie" too...and I still LOVE that name! We call her Karlie-bear...but the kids at school don't have a nick name for her.

Karlie Renee
Kassandra Faith
Kole Robert (boy)
Kenzie Grace

We had dd pegged as Morgan. We had a list of several names that we agreed on and some we didn't but we were set to name her Morgan. Well even though I only saw her for just a minute before she was taken to the nursery I knew she didn't look like a Morgan and dh agreed. My point is you can go in with the best of intentions on a name and then he/she comes out and you have to go in a different direction anyway. We went all through the list and it came down to two names...Jenna and Avery. I ended up choosing Jenna. With our son, we had NO IDEA. We had names picked since our dd was born and then another list. He came out looking like a wrinkly old man and poor boy was soooo ugly (he's as cute as can be now but man were we worried :rotfl2:) we had such a hard time naming him. In the end we just went with the original name we had picked out if dd was a boy...but for a long time I didn't feel it fit him. Ofcourse now its all good.

My advice is to go in with a bunch of names and then look at your dd to see what you think she does or doesn't look like. It's much easier than settling on one name only to be disappointed that she doesn't look like a Morgan or whatever. Good luck!

well, my dd is Kendall Marie.

I liked that it was a strong name and it's spelled phonetically (I'm a teacher...) Our naming rules were that you can't shorten it or can't add a "y" to it. It's quite easy to yell, or say in an annoyed way, especially with the middle name attached.

Now that we've moved from NY to KS, it sounds like people are calling her candle.

We struggled with names too! We didn't tell anyone until after they were born so people couldn't make comments ...oh, I knew someone who drowned with that name! yes, I heard someone say that to someone. :scared1:Or oh - that's my dog's name! Be careful who you tell your favorite names to :thumbsup2 besides us on the boards!!

What about Ryeleigh pronounced Riley. Tayler, Mackenzie, Kalie pronounced Kay Lee, Dakota just to name a few.

Well,

We have it narrowed down to 7 names and I think it will stay that way for a bit. We only have a middle name for one.

We chose:

Natalie Marie
Paige
Sydney
Mia
Kendall
Hailey
Caylee

Kristine

DH and I are in the same boat! Baby girl #3 is coming in August and we can't decide on anything.

We have:
Kayleigh June Marie
Lillian Elizabeth Jayde

and this one so far is:
Carlyn Jane (Carly for short)
-or-
Analeise _________

And we jokingly call her Jamima'quan Minniehaha (terrible names we found in a baby name book) when we refer to her. She'll probably come out thinking that's actually her name... :lmao:

Good luck! :thumbsup2

Ha...totally got that with our names...Morgan...alot of people said oh you can call her the captain as in Captain Morgan rum :rolleyes1 and then with Jenna (which was on our list) I had to hear about how Jenna Jamison was a porn star (and for the record until I thought about the name Jenna I had no idea who Jenna Jamison was) and we liked Anna Nicole so everyone chimed in with their Anna Nicole Smith comments.
I think you are smart to keep your names to yourself because you are right...someone always has something to say...knows someone that reminds them of a name!

Well I personally love Avery and would have used it for my daughter if my cousin hadn't beat me to it.

But I'm kinda glad she did because now I just couldn't imagine her being named anything but Chloe.

I've been lurking on this post for a bit, and wanted to add a name for your consideration... One of my friend's name is Maia (pronounced My-a). It's unique - although she does complain that people constantly misspell it. :)

We're TTC, and have a few ideas for both boys and girls, but when I started TTC (years ago), my sister liked one of the girl names, and got PG first. Luckily she had a boy, and when she later had my niece she changed her mind. (I would have been DEVISTATED if she had picked "our" name for her kid!!) So we're not telling anyone our ideas (heck, we're not even telling anyone we're officially trying again...)

Her kids names (as a FYI):
Owen Thomas
Eva Rose

DH's extended family is huge, and they all use the same family names, so he has vetoed ALL family names from our list. Of course, all this is moot if I don't get PG (which is why I've lurked so long), but I couldn't resist giving my 2 cents... :)

DH and I are at 8 months ourselves, and we're having a little Isabelle Renee.

A couple of other names that I really like that my DH vetoed are:
Kenley
Ainsley
London

As you can probably tell, I like different names that are unique.

Just a warning, Isabelle/Isabella is one of the top names - dd8 has several in her class! Along with Ava's, Olivia's, Sophie's...

I like

Alaina
Catherine
Cailin
and
Alexandra

(Alaina Catherine is my DD name and the other 2 are nieces)

Ok so I finally got through the whole thread and have not seen my dd's names listed once. Which in my mind means we did a great job naming them, lol. The criteria for naming the girls (which we didn't know were girls until they were born) was to give them unisex names. DH and I have the very common names so we wanted something that was unique but not TOO unique so we have a Kellyn and a Hayden. :) On occation we'll get "Helen?" or "Kelly" but not often enough to get to me, lol. Hayden is Hayden no shortening that one! :)

Good luck to you in choosing a name.

:cloud9:My husband and I have never had any trouble picking out a boy's name well before the due date, but when our son was born (we didn't know the sex) we were debating names between contractions....down to the actual delivery at which point we were relieved of the necessity to come up with a girl's name.

For our last baby, a girl, we didn't name her until a few days after she was born. It drove part of our family CRAZY! Yet, we didn't know, so we wanted to spend some time with her first. Our little Avalyn Ruth is such a blessing and we are happy we took the time to find her name, it is just perfect for her.

You will find a name for her, even if you have to meet her first to know what she is to be called. I am praying for you and your little miracle. :cloud9:

All are beautiful choices. I think the list is a great one. Now, you can work on what middle name goes with each one and take it from there.

Best of Luck

We also liked Ashley but found it way too common. Our 8 1/2 yr old daughter is Ashlyn and I just LOVE it and get so many compliments.

Her brothers are Evan and Lawson. As you can tell we like names that are a bit more original.

I still also Reagan and Addison.
Good luck.

DD is almost a year and we had quite a few names on our list going into the hospital and ended up naming her one that wasnt on the list of 20! :lmao:
Heres some the list (can't remember the others):
Delilah was the name I was set on and even when "Hey there Delilah" came on the the radio DS would say that is baby sisters song.
Peyton
Ashton
Shae
Tara
Aubrey
Haley
Kendall
Morgan

We ended up naming her Kali Jai
Jay is DHs middle name so I thought that was a cute middle name for DD but made it a lil girlier with an I
and it is pronounced Kal-E not Kay-Lee, some ppl say kaylee, just have to correct them!
