Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog! LINK TO TRIP REPORT!!!

Hi, Karin! I can't wait. This time in a week, we'll be sitting down to dine with Chip and Dale and Mickey!

I think the waterview is nice; means you won't be looking at a parking lot and it didn't seem to be that much more expensive. Again, still over a thousand less than the deluxes. That's the one thing that's hard about travelling at this time of year; its so darn expensive and there isn't much we can do about it. Unfortunately!

And I think we're arriving early enough where, if they put someplace we don't like, I can always ask if something else is available. I just want to be close to the Dig Site. Well, ok, I'm really hoping for 8A. :rolleyes1 We'll see! Very soon! And I'm so excited for our breakfast, too! It is going to be amazing!

Did you have a waterview last year? I asked Kathy and she told me to go for the Standard view and we got upgraded to a "double" water view - corner room with view of the quiet pool AND the lake! Speak of getting me hooked - I HAD TO book that waterview this year! :rotfl2:

And checking in early is the reason we are staying offsite for the first night. We would only arrive around 10pm and I bet there's not much available at that time of year. So we are "pushing our luck" a bit by checking in early, around 11.30am the next morning! :thumbsup2

It would be neat if we were in the same building! :cloud9:

:rotfl2: Too funny! Seriously though, I am so relieved to hear that you will be writing a TR. I want to hear all about the wonderful things you do and how perfect everything is. (even if/when it isn't)

So what are your plans for the week? The week before I left I had a day to day list of things to do. Not so much because I needed to accomplish things, but because I needed something to distract me.

And I bet she finishes HER trip report faster than I will finish mine! :rotfl2:

I've been awol from comments for a few days...stupid job:lmao::lmao: but since DD is sick with STrep, I get some mandatory at home time and can catch up.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:SO AWESOME that you are just days away. I know you are going to have a terrific time!!

:woohoo: Your trip is so so SO close. How exciting!

on the online check in... Here is my 2 cents. It can be a blessing or a curse. (way for me to be on the fence, eh?)

Last February, we did not do it. We checked in late (like after 10pm) I want to say it took 2 hours to check in. Why? They lost our reservation because the system went down. For days we had to go and get dp credits squared away. It was really not so magical. I feel that had we checked in online it would have gone more smoothly.

Last September, we did do it. Now, it wasn't bad. But, our room was already picked for us. I think sometimes when pixie dust is given...it is spontaneous, so I agree with All7OfUs that it may make it hard for an upgrade. Anyway...back to our room. It was not anywhere near what I had requested. I asked that they check to see if anything in a different area was available. Luckily, there was and it didnt take long to move us. Had we got in late...or maybe rooms had been filled...we could not have been moved. So in this case, I think not having our room assigned would have been better.

I guess for me... getting in late or having a specific place you want to have your room... I would not do online check in. Getting in at a normal time, hoping for an upgrade but not caring where your room actually is, I would do online check in.

Ok..so there is my "more than" two cents. ;)
--I am thankful for this story about online checkins. This either wasn't available or I just didn't know about it the last time we went so I have been wondering about exactly this stuff! Was going to post the q on my PTR too.

Wanna go on a trip together... birds of a feather, they say... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I hope you went obnoxious PINK or neon puce. Just because!

;)

Liesa, if you are even half as funny in person as you are on the boards, of course! :rotfl:

And I went with a really sparkly gold. They make me giggle!

So what are your plans for the week? The week before I left I had a day to day list of things to do. Not so much because I needed to accomplish things, but because I needed something to distract me.

I remember your list! :lmao: Aside from needing to add in a few things we are still wearing, we are mostly packed. My husband even cooperated yeseterday and got his summer stuff...only to discover he didn't have much and the man who never goes shopping had to go shopping! :rotfl2: Let's just say he will blend in perfectly at 'Ohana! :rotfl:

It appears that it is going to be considerable warmer this year than last, so I was able to pack most of our stuff in advance. Fingers crossed! At least until the end of the week, when its supposed to rain! :headache: Oh well, hopefully the periods of rain will be relatively short.

It is times like this when I'm thankful for working a job that's so all-consuming and takes up anywhere from ten to twelve hours everyday! :rotfl: It makes things go by much faster!

This week I need to finish printing and organizing all my planning info... I am printing cards with our ADR info and the Ridemax info on them, in addition to the spreadsheet, my plane itinerary, and everything else. Making the cards has become quite a little project. I also need to finish putting together some gifts for my big Dismeet! :woohoo:

Then, Thursday evening I have an appointment with a new hairdresser who comes highly recommended by my aunt, who has nice hair and has been going to this woman for a long time. It also helps that this new hairdresser has hair that looks quite similar to the hair I want! :rotfl: I have been going to same place for years, and only been somewhat satisfied with the results. My former hairdresser was sort of not with it, in terms of pop culture, so when I would try and explain what I wanted, she sometimes seemed to not have a clue. Weird, right? I also highlight my hair, which is really pricey, and for that money, I should be over the moon happy with the results.

On Friday, we get out early, which for my school means that we're done at 2:30 and can actually leave at that time. I'll do whatever last minute errands I need to do and then come home and make sure everything is set and pack up the car. We'll also need to drop our dog off at my husband's sister's house, who has graciously offered to take her for the week! :woohoo: Otherwise, we'd have to board her, so she saved us a ton of money!

Yes, we did have a waterview last year. We booked that, too. We were in Casitas Four, on the first floor, and you were facing the lake as soon as you stepped out our door. For last year's trip, especially given the weather, it was the perfect location! It took two seconds to walk over to Bus Stop 2. And we got massages, so we used the fitness center...sort of. :rotfl2:

It also makes sense to stay off-site that night since you're probably spending half of what a night on-stie costs and you will probably only be sleeping.

And it would be so cool if we were in the same building, or at least the same section.

My mom and our reservations are supposedly "linked," at least that's what the CM said when I made her reservation. So, we'll see how that goes. She checks in two days after we do, so who knows? I'm going to try and impress upon her that she should at least ask to be moved closer to us, if she isn't already put there. She is also checking in early, so she might have some good luck.

Hey..you know where we'll be in seven days???? At our breakfast!

And I bet she finishes HER trip report faster than I will finish mine! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Well, the longer you take...the more time I have to read :thumbsup2

I am not sure how helpful my story was. I am sure Tina has much better experience with online check in.

I remember your list! :lmao:

:rotfl2: Ok, so I know I overthink things just a bit. :rolleyes1

That is usually what happens with my guys. I actually found that my ds didn't have enough socks very close to our last trip together. Nothing like shopping for bare essentials RIGHT before you leave.

I hope the weather cooperates for you. Nice..sunny..not too hot...not too cold. :thumbsup2

You should show us your new do once you get it. Hopefully this new hairdresser will be a keeper. :goodvibes

OH, we use to have to board our dog. It was SO expensive. When we no longer had him (although I missed him) it was nice to not have that to worry about. We only have cats now...and while we do have to have someone check in on them...it isn't quite the same.

Only four more days of work to get through....and then we're off! So excited.

And I am actually starting to think about my TR already. A little pre-emptive, I realize, but nevertheless, I want to be prepared and want to actually finish my report this time. Some of you may remember my short-lived attempt at a dining review last year. Or...maybe not! :lmao: For those you seasoned TR writers out there, do you usually write your chapters in Word first and then cut and paste, or do you do it right here on the Dis? Just curious.

The weather is looking good...I would be thrilled with one day in the 80's and we might get more than that! :worship: Pretty please! Don't want to jinx it though!

....and Happy Valentine's Day!

I wouldn't ever call myself "seasoned", but I like to type it in a Word document first. You have to go back and insert pictures and smilies :) But I've the Dis shut down suddenly when I was almost done and it lost my entire post! :headache:

Hope you have beautiful weather!!! And have a wonderful time!!!:dance3:

:banana::banana::banana:
You're so close! I can't wait to read your trip report. I would write it in word first. I remember last year doing an entire update and losing it. Better safe than sorry.

I decided to add Garden Grill to our line up and I can't wait for you to get home so I can hear how it is. (Selfish, I know)

You are getting so close!!! I'm super jealous! I am crossing my fingers that you have beautiful weather!

I hope you got outside to enjoy that 55 degree weather today!!!! Just imagine how 75 is gonna feel!!!! :lmao: I was off the DIS basically all weekend so now I'm playing catch-up (no ketchup). You are only a few days away!!!!!! :cool1::cool1:

I usually write my reports right here on the DIS, but I think writing in Word is a better/safer idea. ::yes::

Word is the way to go! More than once I have had the Dis shut down on me and you will loose all of your work!
I type my whole review, then just use portions of it to post. It's enough work to insert photos and smilies and doing some kind of a layout.

BTW - only 4 more sleeps! :yay:

 Thanks for taking the time to "cheer" me on! Thinking of you...

Nope, not selfish...I can't wait to share all of my new found Disney wisdom with everyone when I get back. :goodvibes

Me, too! I think we're going to have pretty nice weather!

OK, Tim, the ketchup joke? Really? And yet here I am :rotfl2:... Too bad its so windy so I have yet to feel the full impact o the warm up. But I can't even imagine what 75 will feel like after all of this. :thumbsup2

I KNOW! So excited, Karin. I left you a message on your PTR, too.

Now, I'm just keeping fingers crossed that the next few days go smoothly and there's no bad news of any sort! :headache: That's how my trip got messed up last year. But, hopefully, all of that is behind us now and everything will be great! :woohoo::woohoo:

I will get WDW all ready for you girls :lmao:

:rotfl2::thumbsup2 Oh, please do Nicki! Just leave some of the caramel corn for us! :rotfl: I can't believe we're going to be meeting in eachother in just a few short days. I hope that you and Todd have the most wonderful weekend! :goodvibes

Tell Mickey that we are on our way! Hm, maybe warning him is not such a good idea! :rotfl2:

Yes, if you would just leave a "little" of all the caramel goodness for Tina and myself! ;) :lmao:
When are you leaving Nicki? On Thursday? Have a safe trip and wonderful time - any live updates? ;)
