Read carefully..... there MAY be a quiz later! :rolleyes1

Anyhow...... let's talk about FUN and what we do for FUN (besides visit Disney parks!). When you have a day/weekend/week to relax a bit, what do you do for FUN??

If I have time to relax, I love to see a show (play, live music, etc). I also like to go to our local zoo, aquarium and museums.

If I just have an hour or two and am by myself, I like to browse the stores.

I love a weekend with nothing planned. It may just be find the best old movie on the tv or maybe go to a show that a local community theater puts on. I also love to have pot lucks with friends. A great weekend is one where I finish a project (a quilt or a knitted blanket). It gives me a great deal of satisfaction.

Last night I was helping the local theater group work on mermaid costumes for their production of A Little Mermaid. They had really tight mermaid skirts that needed jazzing up. We added chiffon pieces to the side (the girls are going to hate them since it will make their hips look wider but they flutter so nicely and they have sparkles on them so when the light hits them they will really glow. Then we are adding another section to the bottom so it is a little easier to move. For 2 nights work this week I go 2 free tickets to see the show at the end of the month.

This morning we cut up a large branch that fell out of our tree the other night in the high winds. It missed my car but dented the pole on the fence gate which just had changed a couple of years ago when the gate was destroyed by a branch that fell during Sandy.

This is one of those weekends where we have not a lot planned. Dh is excited because it is opening day for the Mets today so he can't wait to watch that. I have to meet up with a friend tonight to see a benefit at the local high school and I have to help another friend with a quilt for her daughter's graduation next month. Sunday night is a dinner to celebrate the end of the local high school play season. I guess I do have a lot planned.

Off to get a cup of tea.

Have a happy and healthy day.

I find nothing more relaxing than a lazy day at home. But when the weather warms up I love going for long walks or hanging out by the pool. I also love crafting. Random crafts mostly.. hoping I can even sign up for various Christmas craft shows this year!

MY ADR window opens this month and disney dinning plan/adr planning make me so hungry. I need to make my choices and move on!

Can I ask you all do you have favorite restaurants at WDW for their tasty healthy (ish) meals?

DS had birthday last night so I had little more then usual food but skipped dessert so happy with that

I have open time the next three days, the perfect way to wrap up my time off. We've got a streak of beautiful weather going, so there are lots of options, and I haven't quite decided what to do yet. Yesterday I did get the front flower boxes cleaned up and moved, so I will go get some plants to put in them. I also got another of the front flower beds weeded. I've been thinking to take a bit of a drive somewhere.

In general for fun I like to craft... I'm currently working on a quilt in a scrappy log cabin pattern out of vintage looking fabrics. I also like to camp and hope to get out soon. I like to garden, although I've got so much yard to take care for it often feels like a chore.

I'm booking TS at places that have pretty simple straight forward protien/veggie offerings, like Teppan Edo and Garden Grill. I did splurge on an ADR for brunch at Cali Grill but I'm going to cancel it because I think it'll be a problem.

We finished up our standardized testing this morning so I'm treating the kids to a movie this afternoon - went with Aladdin. Kind of forgot how good this movie is.

I really enjoy going to sporting events in my free time. I also enjoy going to movies with my family, really doing anything with my family. I'm also addicted to planning vacations.

Some other things include checking my steps on my Fitbit every 10 minutes, tracking all the food I eat on MFP, and planning my menu each day for the following day... no, really, I'm serious... kind of.

Hmmm...with 5 children, a job, dance classes, school, and a business I am afraid there is not much time for fun! The summer is always better when the kids are out of school and we can swim in our pool! I also love to travel and try to go to as many places as I can, when I can. I do love planning for our Disney trips almost as much as actually going!

Exciting news!! I got a promotion at work :D There ended up being some structural changes so it wasn't the position I initially applied for at the beginning of March but I'm excited because this one is actually much better for me and will be a better fit and allow me to expand even more at the company! I officially start 4/16. So exciting!

This week has been a wash for me, and I'm definitely eating my feelings/stress today. But I'm telling myself that today is the last day. For whatever reason it feels true today. We'll see tomorrow :rotfl:

Megan.... you are NOT alone here.... even though I know telling you this doesn't really help. Let me share a bit briefly here.... when I got engaged (back in the dark ages of 1990) I was at a weight that I was NOT happy with.... I had spent years not being happy in my weight range.... but when I met and dated DH I gained a bit more and got engaged at about 10 pounds higher (honestly cannot remember exact numbers). Our "fun" together often was food-related... movies and popcorn, parties and beer, rainy weekends relaxing with our feet up and massive portions of chinese food, late-night ice cream runs.

When we got engaged and set the date, I knew I would be unhappy with myself if I didn't lose some weight. So I got to work (we were engaged nearly 2 years) and without a TON of extreme effort I got down to a very comfortable 140 on my wedding day. I felt good, looked good, and was pleased as punch with how I looked that day! But I had one problem.... I had NO PLAN. My entire weight loss journey that time had a definite END date.... May 17, 1992. I never gave a SINGLE SOLITARY thought as to how I was going to maintain this weight loss and make it a lifestyle. I also had a few things that threw me for a loop right after the wedding (post-wedding depression... it is really a thing!), unemployment (I changed states when I got married), newlywed eating for "fun", and then just a few months into our marriage my DH got changed from a M-F 9-5 type of schedule to a horrible Tu-Fri night job (approx 3pm - 1 am) and Saturdays 9-5, right after I had secured a regular 9-5 job!!. He spent all day Sunday sleeping and then was off Mondays when I headed to work. I was lonely (away from family and friends), depressed (post-wedding letdown and nothing "exciting" on the horizon), and bored. That all added up to me gaining everything I lost for the wedding PLUS some.... I hit my 1 year anniversary at probably close to my highest weight to date.

Why am I saying all this..... I guess so you know you are not alone? Because it is 5 am and I am rambling? So that you realize you aren't THAT far gone? You still have time to get back to "wedding weight" by your anniversary! What a great accomplishment that would be! And what a doubly happy anniversary that would be!

One more thing..... I'm going to go into the "MOM" zone on you.... but it is coming from a place of love..... you need to get on a regular sleep schedule. I know, I know.... I'm old and old-fashioned.... but I KNOW that sleep is important.... sleep is when your body grows (when you are a kid) and sleep is when your body HEALS (always) and sleep is when your brain recharges and resets.... but it needs to be good, restorative sleep.... not cat naps on the sofa, not a few hours here and a few hours there. Deep sleep, in a bed, in a cool, dark, quiet room is best.

Okay.... taking of my "MOM" hat and putting on my "friend" hat..... to you. This WILL happen for you... I know it. Just hope I can help you find the right switch to throw to help it along!

 I love you more and more every day, P! Thank you so much for this post. I definitely teared up reading it. It definitely makes me feel less crazy knowing that I'm not the only person who's experienced Post Wedding Depression. Your post made me do a little Googling and I read some other things from people who experienced it, too. Of course, I also read the comments, and read a lot of "Poor, entitled rich girl, threw herself a big party and now isn't getting any attention so she feels sad. That's what happens when you focus on the wedding and not the marriage. You'll be divorced soon and get to do it all again so don't worry." People really SUCK sometimes.

I do need to fix my sleep schedule. A big part of it is that I wait up for DH to get home from work, and when he works both jobs in one day, that's usually 10:30p or 11p. That's also when we eat dinner those nights, which also has to stop. I guess I should go to bed while he's still at work, but I feel really guilty doing that. I feel really guilty about him working a second job anyway. I've been applying to jobs myself this week which is a big part of what's making this week tough to deal with. I know me taking on a real job pretty much means the end of my shop. Ugh.

Today's QOTD - My fun is photography. I don't do near enough of it anymore. I'm photographing a good friend's gender reveal party this Sunday and absolutely can not wait. It's out of town so DH and I get a little roadtrip out of it, too, which will be really nice.

Sleep, sleep, and more sleep.
I also enjoy reading, watching sports (both live and on TV), visiting museums and historical sites ... and occasionally just randomly walking around New York City.
I used to crochet a lot, but something happened last year (although I have no idea what) and now it hurts my hand too much.

Congrats on the promotion! That's amazing!

Yes! Today will be the last day - tomorrow you will start making the amazing progress that we all know you can make. You can do it!

Oh thank goodness you said this - I was reading all the answers and thinking am I the only one who feels like she has very little fun due to being so time poor!

But I do really love to watch my kids play sport and cheer them on.
We watch TV or a DVD together or on my own (that's some nice peace time).
Going to a movie - we mostly tend to go on school holidays - although there are a few coming out in the next few weeks that I like the look of.
Not often enough but catching up with my friends.
Reading a good book - I like ones that make me laugh out loud and have some action in them.

Have you noticed the flaw with the things I think are fun? They all involve sitting or laying down lol!

:jumping1: Congratulations - so happy for you.

I think this whole paragraph is a big reveal as to why you are struggling to lose weight and get on track at the moment. Sleep - the staying up beyond when you are tired waiting for DH, Eating - eating dinner sized meals or probably anything really at 10.30-11pm is not good, Guilt and Stress about him working, your business and applying for jobs - stress releases the hormone Cortisol - when cortisol levels remain high for extended periods it can lead to increased appetite and not surprisingly weight gain as well as inflammation and other health concerns. From an evolutionary perspective it is released after a stressor so that our bodies can replenish needed energy/nutrients but instead of running away from a sabre tooth tiger maybe once a week - many of us have multiple stressors each day as we run to and from jobs, kids, bills, traffic, lack of sleep, families, relationships, new businesses, applying for jobs, guilt etc etc.

Is there anyway the business can be run on a more part-time basis when you get a more regular job if it is not making enough $ for you at the moment? Maybe you could extend the delivery dates or have a cut off on the amount of orders you take in a week or a month? Just make sure it doesn't take up all of your spare time as you will need some down time. You have a wonderful hubby who is being so supportive willing to work the 2nd job but I wonder if it is worth the angst it appears to be causing for you.... these are obviously all questions only you and hubby can answer together. I do seem recall you talking about timeframes for starting a family that is not too far away really - so that could be a long term goal for getting healthier for conception, pregnancy and motherhood BUT don't put pressure on yourself about it as stress can affect conception.

Can you meet hubby for a lunch date instead up staying up to eat dinner with him? You could stay up maybe 1 or 2 nights a week to see him when he gets home and get to bed earlier the other nights?

 it will all work out.

Sleep, sleep, and more sleep.

:thumbsup2 I hear you - this is so me!

My favorite fun activity is playing games. I'm not very picky and have only played a few games I didn't like.
When I am by myself, though, I enjoy reading or watching movies/t.v. shows at home depending on how much brain power I have at the moment. :earsboy::earsboy:

Check in: started the month at 274. Weigh-in this morning has me at 270. My goal for the month was 14 lbs, which puts me at 29% of my goal.

Figures after my pity party on Wednesday the weight is starting to come off again. I think a lot of that is because I've been doing a lot of 10 degree incline work on the treadmill.

Anyway, happy to have finally hit the 50 lb loss goal! I'm half way there!

Good morning friends! I apologize profusely for never making it back on here yesterday! The wi-fi at our venue is not unlocked....:( Oh well. But what that meant for me, in terms of the day, was LOTS and LOTS of steps instead of sitting in my seat scanning Facebook, Disboards, and/or Pinterest! I hit over 20,000 steps yesterday.... pretty good for a day that normally would have been full of sitting! I think I lapped that coliseum (inside and out) a billion times!:) Plus I did stairs... up, down, up, down, up, down..... over and over! Wish I had the Fitbit that showed stairs/flights!

Anyhow, I have just a minute to pop on this morning and wish you all a GREAT Saturday! I've already dropped the men off at the coliseum and returned to the hotel to have a minute to chat with you all, but my time is limited. This could be (assuming our luck isn't any better than yesterday's:o) my DS's LAST day ever of FIRST robotics competition...:sad1: He's been involved since 4th grade.... and I'm sad that this year's robot doesn't seem like it is going to get us to the next level of competition.... but fingers are still crossed... it isn't totally out of the running yet. Anyhow, I want to really engage today and be there and savor it.

I'll be back tomorrow for a full catch up job!...............P

WEEKEND QOTD for April 9-10, 2016..........

Tell us a story about your week using as many Disboard emojis as you can!!

Here is MY story to get us going!

So the last two days were long .... I didn't have to :teacher: or stay home and do :laundy:.... but I did have to leave my poor :cat: home alone and :drive: to another state and then :cheer2: on my DS's team. Some parts of the day were :bored: but some were really:crazy: and then other parts were :jumping1:. After a VERY long day, the team returned to the hotel and decided to go out for dinner. They chose a restaurant that we didn't like, but we didn't want to :stir: up trouble, so we went along with the group. I had a :drinking1 as a treat.... and then DH ordered me a second:drinking1. YIKES! I felt a little:faint: but enjoyed my salad and went back to the hotel. This morning I will :car: to the coliseum to see the matches and then we will have the long :drive: home again tonight.

Sorry that this QOTD isn't :yoda::chewy::darth: related, but I'm kind of feeling :P today!! :chat: you tomorrow!!...................P

Anyhow...... let's talk about FUN and what we do for FUN (besides visit Disney parks!). When you have a day/weekend/week to relax a bit, what do you do for FUN??
So I was at work yesterday and thought I'd check in and answer the QOTD and was really annoyed with myself that I didn't have a better answer than "I have a lot of kids!" Really, I love my life, and I don't believe in the glorification of "busy" so it got me thinking...what DO I do for fun? If I would have stopped and thought about the question for more than the 4 seconds it took me to write my response, I would have remembered a huge part of my life: football! I love football. I play fantasy football in 3 leagues, one I am the commissioner of. I watch every game that I can, whenever I can. Sundays after church are spent in my football room with two TV's so I can watch Sunday ticket and Redzone. (That is also the day I charge my fitbit since I get like 100 steps :P) So there you go, that's what I do for fun!

Oh thank goodness you said this - I was reading all the answers and thinking am I the only one who feels like she has very little fun due to being so time poor!

My fun things are all mostly in the house, mostly sitting down too :( I am just not at the point where I count going out for a run or to the gym as "fun" but maybe I'll get there!

Tell us a story about your week using as many Disboard emojis as you can!!
Sadly, my work computer does not show me the emojis, so you will all have to suffer thru my story without them :) Because I am super focused on my healthy eating choices, I will tell you that I have not "cheated" on my eating plan at all this week, including when my DH brought take-out and my DD brought home an XL pizza! I chose instead to eat healthy proteins and my veggies. For the first time in my life, I actually felt really empowered by making these choices instead of left-out or feeling like "everyone is eating something yummy instead of me"
Also, I am happy to report that none of my kids pooped in any inappropriate places and I managed to feed them all, every day, so that's a bonus :)

Check in for the weekend and I lost 4.5 pounds. I'm reeeeally not sure how that happened. I did do a good job of staying within points and working out so I guess it's real. Guess next week I need to eat more! I'm so excited to keep up with only one indulgent meal on the weekend though. I think that helped this week tremendously.

I'm at 75% of my 6 pound loss goal

I also just realized that I'm only 11 pounds from my initial weight loss goal of 170. I'm not sure what I'll do when I'm there but I can't believe how close I'm getting!
