The last resort you stayed at and the next resort you are staying at? and what year?

Last Resort-Wilderness Lodge in Dec 2023. Next I think go back to Port Orleans and maybe French Quarter during Mardi Gras for the party there.

What Hotels Are the Most Fun to Explore?

My first thoughts were AK and Wilderness Lounge, but with 11 days in the park you might like the atmosphere of Port Orleans. The paths along the river are so calming and the jazz club at French Quarter with Beignets is laid back and fun, also. You can fish, ride bikes, even take a carriage ride...

Best beach in Florida - opinions please

I have not read all the suggestions, but live on the East Coast. East coast has an ocean and more fun to play in, but with with an 11 year old to entertain....and not minding a drive.....I suggest do both the Gulf area and the Atlantic. You could even do day trips to either beach from Orlando...

Any idea when they might cancel the MNSSHP for this coming Thursday due to the hurricane?

They are cancelling things already. If things don't change I would guess the winds will be too dangerous to allow guests out of their resorts/rooms.

Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

sorry can't figure out how to remove ...but since it posted I will add we had our dog with us at the last minute in December. We had a Riverview room and they allowed us to have the dog. We walked him on all the regular paths of the resort and had the doggie baggies to clean up after him.. You...

    Using a CamelBak type backpack

An FYI about over heating from a Floridian who had it happen in a foreign country when I didn't have enough water to drink. Lots of medications for blood pressure, heart etc. tend to make someone overheat. My husband's have warnings on them so check your meds. Best thing to do is keep...

    Port Orleans Riverside - Coffee?

It is the little Joffrey pods and I think it made 1 cup at a time.

Anyone stay at Port Orleans Riverside lately?

Evidently they just are not updating the info on Trip Advisor. Port Orleans is open. They had NYE party last night at Riverside and French Quarter.

Anyone stay at Port Orleans Riverside lately?

I just went to Trip Advisor to check the reviews. Weird update from hotel is on the site where you check availability " Update from hotel: This property is temporarily closed until 12/29/2021. So what is that all about...does it mean no vacancy? It has been open for months and so has...

Anyone stay at Port Orleans Riverside lately?

We were just there before Christmas. It was a beautiful stay. I cannot think of one thing to complain about. The grounds are beautiful. We had the dog so took lots of walks at night. It was so peaceful and magical. Since my husband is disabled we used the car to go to the parks so not sure...

Disney Requiring All Non-Union Cast Members to be Vaccinated

I do not know if it has been said but Disney CMs get paid to go get the shot. I think they can get 4 hours of pay if they show proof that they got the shot. I forget the deal and it may have changed because I also saw they get $100 incentive to get the shot.

Disney Salute, no rooms available 5 months from now??!?

Also just a thought..... Sept. 5 is not a slow day. That is Labor Day weekend! So lots of locals will be there- because it is a 3 day weekend -including me, but not staying as military or at Pop. Also the DW corp is giving CMs a free night at a Disney hotel and I bet a lot of the CMs got...

    Disappointing New Year's at OKW

Actually residents in Florida buy lots of fireworks and we watched from our front yard for about 40 minutes. They had big ones just like the parks, but looking East....Sea World had a huge fireworks show . My sons neighborhood in 4 Corners area had a lot of huge ones, too.

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

I can answer that.....because there is a pandemic out there. Because when you decided to buy that ticket or stay in that hotel during a pandemic you agreed to live by the rules. It is to protect the CMs and other guests. I can tell you that if you are coming for Christmas, there is a huge...

    Cold Weather Disney

I can tell you the pools are not going to open tomorrow morning because of the cold. I think they are planning to open at noon. Should be 65 by then.

Anyone else concerned about the crowd increase?

Actually wear your mask here in Central Florida and around the country so more can open up. Thousands are losing jobs at Disney and around the country in part because of the country not wanting to wear masks months ago. Had we done that during the shut down in April maybe things would be...

Any news on projected reopening for Water Parks?

Probably not until the CPs can be brought in again. A lot of the slide ops and life guards are CPs.

    Complimentary Ticket from CM

I would check on that ticket. CMs cannot bring anyone in on their passes yet. Because of such low numbers in some of the parks, CMs were just given the go ahead this week to get in themselves. They had been on blackout since the parks opened.

    International Gateway Tents?

I think only the front entrance will be open. Seems like I read it somewhere but can't remember where. About 1/3 of the Disney CMs were CPs and they cannot get here yet. I figure you have to go to main gate to be screened into the park instead of having to man 2 covid tents for 1 park...
