What would your dream job be? REALISTICALLY

Well.... if I really can’t be a chocolate tester (thanks for crushing my dreams, btw ), I think I’d want to be someone directly involved in making families wishes come true with a Make-a-Wish type organization. I’ve done a little volunteer work like that and I loved it. It’s so gratifying to be able to help in that way and really keeps things in perspective.

I mean the easiest way to become a chocolate tester would be to get into chocolate work. I’ve got about 100# of chocolate at my desk at all times, and I’m not a chocolatier.

As far as dream job it’s my current side business, my goal was to open my own restaurant in my hometown, but things got in the way. The side business will get me more to where I intended to be, in business for myself.

Ok...I need to know why you have a 100 pounds of chocolate at your desk!

Decorate custom canned ham campers.Themed campers.Look on Ebay, yard sales, etc.for decor that would suit each trailer.Would LOVE that!

Mattress test sleeper. By combining my work time and my sleep time, I won't lose any of my awake hours with work.
And given that I have 13 hours of Scheduled Overtime this week, the overtime would be easier in this dream job.

This is seriously hard practical and theoretical work and transcends the ability to decorate pretty. It's also achievable at your age:)
l

Decorating is the least of why I would like to do it.
I don't need or want to work anymore but if I knew how much I would like it, I would have done that instead of getting a degree I don't use.

Honestly 911 operator or police dispatcher is my dream job. I'll never be rich but I'll know I'm making a difference.
Ha! Most of us aren’t going to ever be rich anyway. :goodvibes

Interestingly, I very recently checked out the Calgary.ca recruitment page for emergency-response operators. After 8 years service the wage tops out (for non-management) around $85,000 not including overtime, with gold-plated City benefits. Not too shabby. Unfortunately for me, I’m at a stage in life where I couldn’t afford the time it would take to attain that income level; the starting wage is about 1/2 that. I’m stuck, so to speak, in a tough, unsatisfying, well-paying job. :scratchin Dreams will have to remain just that.

I think I would like to have a clothing consignment shop. I used to sell a lot of clothes on eBay and was pretty good at it. If I had a shop, people could inspect/try on before buying and I wouldn't have to ship. We have a nice consignment in town and I can imagine myself enjoying sorting through all the stuff, pricing, organizing, etc. I also like bookkeeping (do that as part of my real job) so that part would be fine too.

Honestly, I would love to have a big room full of money that I have to sort, face, and bundle. I worked in a casino many years ago as a cage cashier and my cash drawer was always so beautiful. I then went to work in a bank and I was in charge of sorting and beautifying the money for our ATMs. I asked my boss once if I could redo all the money in the vault and she laughed at me and said, "ummm, no". I seriously have no desire to take any of it, I just want to make it pretty. I could do that 40 hours a week no problem!

My dream job would be to run a dog rescue facility on a large open property. (Highly highly allergic to cats or Id take them too)

If you are on FB do you follow Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary? I just love following the dogs there. Makes my heart happy.

I thought of something else...

I'm a hurricane junkie, &, as melodramatic & as cheesy as The Weather Channel reporters can get, I'd love to join their team & travel to the different locations & report during the hurricanes.

I wanna be the female Jim Cantore, but I won't be smug like Stephanie Abrams.

Honestly I'm tired of working. If i had to choose though, I would like a job where I had no boss and no one nitpicking my every move. But i don't think that exists lol. Everyone is a critic these days.

Novel Writer - I should have stuck with my first novel back when the kids were little. That's sitting in a file somewhere, but the new one is only 80+ pages, and I've been working on it in my spare time, when people leave me alone long enough to have some thinking time... But if I could do it full time, instead of trying to have a day job that pays the bills, and write, and stay healthy, well, that would be my dream job!
