Yuck. Had a night booked early May but for $20 more we'll just go to hard rock. If it was just a cosmetic issue that'd be one thing but the idea of detours is an annoyance I could do without. Looking forward to going when it's all done though.

Last fall I had a similar situation with cabana bay and they priced out some options for me so that I could stay a few hours later than official check out without paying a full night. I think it ended up making sense to pay a full night and we left early without issue. But it's worth asking about.

I'd book the second option. The volcano bay view rooms are really far and, while I don't mind a walk, I'd rather be closer to the lobby/cafeteria/etc.

I've only ever stayed in the family suites with the exterior entry. This is primarily due to the fact that my extended family are smokers... I definitely noticed a lot more smoking in that courtyard, so might be something to keep in mind if that bothers you. We also saw a few more harmless bugs...

I was able to get AP rates for Sun Sept 11- Wed Sep 14 for cabana bay ($109 standard queen), and royal pacific, ($244 standard queen.) There were no aph rates for aventura, which is a bummer cause I wanted to stay there, but I'll keep checking.

The walkway from Cabana Bay to the parks is pretty, but like the previous poster said, 20-25 minutes in the heat can be fatiguing. Also pay attention to where the garden path is in relation to the type of room you have at Cabana Bay.. it is on the verrrry end of the courtyard for the exterior...

The rule as universal has told me is one pass per room is required for the discount. You can say a kid is staying in the other room and show the pass before check out, if needed.
