New Year's Eve 2022/23 - Non Park this year

One year we spent the evening at Disney Springs, having dinner, then walking around and having drinks etc.; one year we stayed back at the resort and had drinks/apps etc. in our room, went swimming etc. There is plenty to enjoy not going to a park on NYE

Riviera Quick Service - just bad

we just recently stayed and love Primo Piatto. The breakfast was really good, both the lemon blueberry pancakes, the primo piatto breakfast which has scrambled eggs and mascarpone polenta and even the mickey waffles which were much better than grand flordian. We also really enjoyed the...

    Planning WDW/DCL/WDW trip

since you were just there, I'd pick Option 3 and skip HS this time around. We enjoy spending time at Disney Springs too and this seems a good mix of Disney and the cruise

    Boardwalk vs Bonnet Creek

This is a tough one because I've stayed at both and love both. We have recently stayed at BW with our family of 4 (two teens) and found it to have enough room; however, you are 2 different families so that complicates things a bit - with us, my daughter sleeps on the sofabed and my son (even...

    Bonnet Creek

we have stayed on property and off property and this is by far my favorite off property resort. I love all the extra space the rooms provide so you can spread out and relax and when we are traveling with family it's perfect. We tend to drive down to Disney so we have a car and don't mind...

    Floridian vs Riveria

we stayed at Riviera over the holidays and I loved the resort. we liked traveling via skyliner and the bus service was good as well. we liked topolino's, the quick service, best coffee in the morning, pool area and overall vibe of the resort.

Hard to get ADR? Were you able to get it?

We were just there over Christmas and I have to say we got every reservation we wanted including Topolino's, Sci-Fi, H&V (special Minnie dinner) and Homecoming. What I can tell is that you may need to be flexible with your times (we took a late lunch / early dinner reservation at H&V) and then...

    Topolino’s or H&V?

We went to both during our Christmas trip and we really enjoyed both. But if I had to pick only one, breakfast at Topolino's would be my choice. Aside from the fact we stayed at Riviera and it was very convenient, the food was delicious, character interaction was good and we just really...

How early have you been able to check into a room?

Christmas week split stay. BCV arrival time 10:00 a.m and room was ready at 12:30. Riviera arrival time at noon (we planned a park in the morning) and room ready at 1:30.

WDW fans: How often do you go?

We've been going every 18 to 24 months for the past few years. We live in NJ but we have been driving for awhile now. We just went over the holidays and probably won't plan another trip back until sometime in 2022. Both kids are in high school and one will be going off to college in August...

I'm...Kind of Digging the Park Reservation System

I don't mind the reservation system either. We were there over christmas/new year and still had the ability to change one of our reservations while there. I also like not having to worry about making a FP so one of the days we decided to chill at the pool and go to the parks later. Not being...

Anyone there recently - is there early entry at IG?

we stayed at Riviera at Christmas. The skyliner will definitely be running before Epcot. I'm not exactly what time it started running but we never had an issue, even the morning we went to HS which opens earlier than Epcot

    Week before Easter vs. May

Nobody knows what the crowds will be like going forward so pick the time that appeals most to you. Honestly, I'd go in April before Easter but that's me. I've been there at that time previously and while crowded, it's manageable. Not knowing whether they will increase crowds or bring back...

Christmas Day 2020... Best place to go? Where are you going?

When we were there in 2017 they had a Christmas skillet with turkey, stuffing etc. It was delicious and festive. Can't remember all that was on it. I hope it's the same this year!

    Can't decide final night meal..

I think it depends on what vibe you want for your last meal. WCC is lighthearted and fun and Cali Grill is the exact opposite with a signature dining experience.

Timing for 2021 - August or "NJ Week"?

the year we went for Jersey Week was the first week of November. It was quite warm but I had no complaints about the weather. We went for first time Aug 2019 and while I always said I'd never go in Summer, we really had a great trip. Only 1 day we felt the heat was oppressive and we were in...

    Virtual Line for Hagrid's?

If you get there 1 hour b/4 the early park opening time, do they let you in the park early or are you standing there waiting the whole hour to get in? Just curious because I know that Disney sometimes lets people into the park earlier than the posted time and I'm unfamiliar with Universal's...

Help me choose: BCV or Kidani?

I think you have more options for food/entertainment and access to the parks if you stay at Beach Club. With only Kindani being open, I'd not stay at AKL right now.
